I've been in Taipei for four days now. I love it. I was stupid to worry about it, honestly. It's comfortable here. Taipei and I are old friends. It's almost like I never left.

The bad part is I'm still sick. About every other day my body's like "HEY! Guess what! You're getting better!", and I feel great. And then I wake up the next morning feeling like shit. Stop being an asshole, body.

Yesterday in Taipei! )

Anyway, have some pictures I took here!

Flowers are blooming at Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall / Liberty Square park, the prettiest place in Taipei proper.

More here )

On a separate, random note - I started watching Secret Garden. I'm halfway through with it, and while I like and enjoy it, I am also baffled at how they're going to sustain it for another 10 episodes. I am also desperately obsessed with Director Jong Soo. I love him so so much. Also, it is really reminding me a lot of Bali, which is probably mostly because of Ha Ji Won, but also because Joo Won reminds me of a less crazy version of Jae Min. Kdramas make me hate rich people SO MUCH.
uisceros: (Nathan)
I guess it's easier to divide things up...

1. Maou
I watched the first episode of Maou last night, and while I did enjoy it, I also found is ridiculously hilarious in quite a few spots. The biggest thing? It's way over-dramatic. Especially Toma's character. Everything he does is SO dramatic, SO passionate. I mean, he runs everywhere. As [livejournal.com profile] sn0tcat said, he's just too full of passion and emotion to simply walk. Ohno's character, on the other hand, I LOOOOVED. I LOL-ed a lot at him (come on, Ohno being creepy is kinda funny), but he was damn good. I like evil, conniving, dastardly characters. They make me happy.

Come On, you can't tell me you don't find evil!Ohno hilarious...
A BUNCH more caps from episode 1 )

2. Misfits
SERIES TWO IS FINALLY HERE YOU GUYS! I've been waiting a freaking year for this show to come back. For reals! It's currently my favorite show (not that LOST is off the air), and I'm so excited for the next episode. I read some spoilers earlier, and watched the pre-air, so I knew what was going to happen, but damn if it wasn't worth watching in HD. This season I'm loving Simon a whole lot more, despite him being a total creeper. And I'm still on the Nathan/Kelly ship. I kinda like how they didn't make them get together right away. These things need to be drawn out. That being said, I wish there had been more time before they dug Nathan up, just to see how everyone (mostly Kelly) was handling it. I seriously could watch this show only for Nathan though. He's such an asshole, and we all know how I feel about the asshole characters...

This makes me wonder about British graves... Are they really that easy to dig up?!
A few more caps from episode 1, including one that may haunt your nightmares... just warning you )

3. Koukou Debut Movie
I randomly heard about this the other day, while looking for news on the ParaKiss movie. The news came out awhile ago, but I'm kinda slow on the uptake recently. Apparently Mizobata Junpei (who played Shuji-kun in Buzzer Beat) will be acting as Yoh, and Ohno Ito (a new actress, as far as I can tell) will be Haruna. This will either be awesome, or epically bad (see : Love Com). I hope for awesome. Because Koukou Debut is a really good manga, and I'd love to see it done well. While I loved Junpei in Buzzer Beat, I wouldn't have picked him to play Yoh... then again, who knows, he may knock it out of the park.

4. Fated to Love You sequel
Nothing is confirmed about this story, so take it with a grain of salt. HOWEVER, SETTV is looking to make a sequel to Fated to Love You, called 醉後決定愛上你 (Drunken to Love You... odd translation). I AM SO AGAINST THIS IT'S NOT EVEN FUNNY. Now, I love SETTV, I love their shows, I love their actors, I just love them. And yes, FtLY is the highest rated drama in Taiwanese history, so I suppose it makes sense to have a sequel. But a sequel without Qiao En or Ethan?! And didn't they already make a tie in with Invincible Shan Bao Mei?! The actors they're looking at are Rainie Yang and Jerry Yan. I just... don't know. I think seeing them together would make me think too much about Meteor Garden, and question why Ken isn't there. But yeah... not really looking forward to this. I loved FtLY, and I don't think there needs to be another one.
uisceros: (OMG Wu Zun + Cat = AWESOME)
OMG MISCHIEVOUS KISS!

How did it get to the end so fast?! We're on episode 13/16, and they're already corresponding to episode 29/30 of the Taiwanese drama. I'm assuming the last three episodes will have some of the plot from They Kiss Again thrown in, but who knows.

I do quite like Mischievous Kiss, but I have to say, It Started With a Kiss did the penultimate scene better. It was far more dramatic and romantic. Of course, I watched MK raw, but even visually it didn't live up to my large expectations. Still totally adorable though!

One more for the road [spoilery] )
uisceros: (Default)
I've been watching Mischievous Kiss (admittedly slowly - I'm waiting for the Haru2Haru subs, instead of streaming), and I quite like it. That didn't come as a surprise to me in the least. I love Hyun Joong a ton, the girl strongly reminds me of Yoon Eun Hye (which is always a good thing), and I'm also quite fond of the storyline.

I mean, technically it was ISWAK that brought me to Taiwan. ISWAK was my first Taiwanese drama, and after getting past my initial shock at the production quality versus Japanese dramas, I was utterly hooked. A lot of my early views of Taiwan and the Taiwanese people came from what I saw in ISWAK. I have strong attachments to that drama.

Anyway, yesterday, after watching MK episodes 4-9 raw, I decided to rewatch ISWAK. As it turns out, Mischievous Kiss is following the same plotline extremely closely. They've cut out some things, of course (like Xiang Qin's night blindness. I liked that plotpoint, but I suppose unless they plan on adapting the whole manga, it won't make much difference in the end), but on the whole it's pretty damn close.

Which makes me question why people who didn't like the Taiwanese version at all are liking the Korean version so much. They're SO close. Ha Ni is a bit less dumb that Xiang Qin was, Seung Jo is a bit less mean than Zhi Shu, and Joon Gu a bit less stalkery than Ah Jin. Otherwise, the characters are basically the same. The plotline is cut down a bit in the Korean version (admittedly making for less embarrassment for Ha Ni, and less time spent on her character devoting her life entirely to Seung Jo), but otherwise they're the same. There are tone differences, naturally, but is that really the reason people seem to like the Korean one and hate the Taiwanese one? The old standby excuse of not liking Xiang Qin's character doesn't seem to apply to me here, because the characters (to me at least) are pretty identical. I don't get it. But then, I very rarely do.

Does Seung Jo's little brother remind anyone else of Kim Bum? Just me? Okay.

That aside, I random!capped.

I admit, I melted. NEED MORE HAIR NUZZLING, KAY?!

BEST. MOMENT. IN. A. DRAMA. EVER. (As an aside, I loved watching this, because I could understand some. I stopped the show many times to read the Chinese subs too. 對, 對啊 indeed. Taiwanese dramas make a lot more sense sometimes when you can make sense of what they're saying. Translations just don't cut it sometimes.)
uisceros: (GD Hwaiting!!)
I really wish I had know this manga/anime existed. I only know of it now because it's a drama that confuses me so much.

Tadayasu Sawaki is a agriculture student who can see, understand, and talk to microbes. THIS BLOWS MY MIND. It's even more weird because the microbes appear as SD characters (which isn't really true, since technically they appear a GIGANTIC characters)...

I just don't know what to make of it. The inaccuracies are burning my eyes (there are so many more microbes in the environment! MICROBES DON'T LOOK LIKE THAT! - it's like watching those mouthwash commercials where they have "microbes" that are made up, There are more than five different types too...), but at the same time it's kinda cool. Microbiology as a theme in a drama? HELL YEAH! There aren't enough science based dramas (not counting medical shows), even if they are sort of pseudoscience. Microbiology is fun! It's about time people got on board that awesome train.

Main-guy has a Kame-face... See the microbes!?

uisceros: (Osamu)
I watched the first episode of HnH 2 raw, and while I have only gleaned the very basics from my viewing, I can say that I ship Hotaru so so so so much with Osamu's character.

Now, that was probably a given for me. I love Osamu. He's one of my three favorite Japanese actors (Shun and Taki make up the rest of the triad). And Ayase Haruka is my favorite Japanese actress. Naturally, I'm all over that shit. But that aside, I never really shipped Hotaru and Takano. To be honest, I liked Hotaru and Makoto in the first season. I always knew Hotaru and Takano were OTP, but I never understood why.

But seriously, COME ON. In the first episode we have Seno (Osamu's character) piggybacking Hotaru when she's drunk (OTP!!!!), and then they wind up in bed together (I'm not sure why or how, but it happens). I mean, REALLY?! Plus, they're all laughey, and do weird dances, and seriously, OTP. O. T. P. I'm not often wrong with my OTP-sense (kinda like spidey-sense, but a lot less useful), but sadly, I know I'm wrong here.

HOW IS THIS NOT OTP?!

A few more caps, featuring Takano as Carmen Miranda )

I keep forgetting that the reason I call Fujiki Naohito "Takano" is because of Hotaru no Hikari (yes, I call him "Takano" all the time)... So, in this instance, it makes sense. But no other time, really.

Random -> Osamu is wearing shorts in the episode, and somehow that freaks me out.

Day 1 of my FIVE DAY TRAINING for my new job is complete. Yes, five days. I'm a little baffled by that... I also didn't know in advance, which makes things rather unpleasant. Because, you see, I work Saturday - Tuesday. So in addition to the 4 days I actually will be working, I have 5 days of training. Which means nine straight days of work. NINE STRAIGHT DAYS (I'm assuming I get Monday the 5th off because of the holidays, but even then, 8 straight days is pretty damn harsh). Luckily I get paid for it all. Two weeks pay, to be exact (my work week is only 4 days).

I'm so tired. I forgot how tiring this all could be.

On the topic of YB's song previews; I've really liked two of them, liked one okay, and thought the remaining two were just... not my style.
I have two of the SOLAR deluxe editions on order. Yes, I ordered two. Just in case, you know. I don't want to be caught without one, because of the limited nature of them.

This is random, but I was thinking the other day just how excited I am for What's Up?. And yes, the reason is Dae. It's not as simple as me being a fangirl though. Like, I wasn't terribly excited for IRIS, and it's not because I like Dae better (actually, TOP edges out Dae in my favorites), but because Dae makes me happy. Just seeing him smile makes me happy. I am so looking forward to seeing him act. Especially in this drama, where the plot looks very interesting, and my type of film (I can't exactly define "my type", but I know it when I see it). I like a lot of the other actors as well, so it makes it all that more exciting to me.

I'm hoping to get back into drama watching soon. The past few months it's been hard for me to concentrate on a drama. Hopefully now that I have a stability in my life, what with my job, I can start watching things again. But not right now, right now I'm reading :D
uisceros: (Yamapi)
The other day, when trolling for some atypical drama fare, [livejournal.com profile] princess_dexter recommended Deep Love to me. As soon as I real the summary, I had to watch it. I mean, it's a love story between a teenage prostitute, and a kid with a heart problem. It practically screams "hey, I'm fucked up! Come and watch me..." And as we all know, I tend to like the really insane dramas.

Anyway, one episode in, I can say it's plenty interesting. Though I have to say, Ayu is not a very good prostitute, especially for what she's charging. I KNOW that her lack of emotion is supposed to be because she's all empty inside, but still. Either Japanese men are ridiculously easy to please, or they're just willing to sacrifice so they can bang a schoolgirl.

Poor Ayu is empty inside... she kinda looks like a mannequin here.

I was a little hesitant about this drama to begin with. The cast is mostly people I am either unfamiliar with, or aren't terribly fond of (which does influence me greatly). Add onto that a pretty convoluted storyline (I remember when the plot summary first came out ages ago, and how confused I was by the whole thing), and I wan't terribly excited.

However, I have to say, after going through the first episode this honestly looks like it will be a good adult drama. It's not too heavy (yet - the preview for the next episode involves kidnapping, and the heroine stabbing a rock into her leg, for some reason), and the actors are all quite good. I was very pleased to see an appearance from one of my favorite character actors, Lin Mei Xiu.

Also, KITTEN!

I love this cap, because he's all like "SO CUUUUUTTE!" (that's what the Chinese subs say)... he sounded like a girl. Seriously.

And finally, FAMILY MART!!!!!!!!! I see pudding, and sushi, and JUICE (including the veggie/fruit juice they always had, that always seemed gross to me... I'm pretty sure I see the juice I always used to get too)

I know they filmed this awhile back, but apparently they filmed it while I was in Taiwan. In one shot there's a poster for a movie that came out last summer. Awesome-sauce.
uisceros: (Ariel)
All things considered, I keep on top of Taiwanese entertainment news pretty well. I don't know HOW IN THE WORLD I could have missed this.

Taiwan is remaking Coffee Prince

Excuse me while I die of utter delight! And the best part is Ariel Lin is going to be playing Eun Hye's role. Ariel is one of my three favorite Asian actresses, and I've been impressed with her acting since day 1. She's one of the few Asian actresses that really wholly puts herself in the role, being unafraid of looking bad. Seriously, anyone who watched ISWAK knows that's she's not afraid to get into the roles. Dirty crying, and all. RUMORS are saying that Jerry Yan will play Gong Yoo's role, but honestly I hope not. Nothing against Jerry (especially since I quite like him), but he's not one of the best actors in the world. If I could choose, I would hope for Zai Zai, or Joseph Chang. Both are phenomenal actors, and play carefree playboys well.

In other awesome Twdrama news, they're finally picking Extravagant Challenge up again. Now, I've been waiting for this damn drama for years. It's based on Skip Beat, which I love. And it will also star Ariel (which we already knew). What IS new though, is that Jerry Yan (who was initially cast) is being replaced. Instead, we get two awesome alternatives! Siwon and Donghae from SuJu! Siwon and Donghae are my FAVORITE SuJu members! And they both have fantastic chemistry with Ariel (if you've seen her MV for 螢火蟲, you'd agree). I love that Siwon and Donghae are diving into a Taiwanese drama. I want so much for K-stars to pay more attention to Taiwan, and this is the best way. Especially with Ariel (who speaks Korean - she majored in it at university).

I'm so excited! Seriously, the only thing that could make it better would be Zai Zai (who I've always wanted Ariel to act with).

The ending for Personal Preference was adorable. It had a VERY satisfying ending, akin to the ending of One Pound Gospel. Very cute.

But I have to say, they did one of the things I hate beyond words. That's right...

COUPLES OUTFITS.

I hate couples outfits so much. I also hate couple cell phone charms. Really, couples anything (it's less abhorrent when it's teenagers, but when you're in your twenties or above, seriously?!)...

I like cute things, more than the average American. But sometimes Asia goes too far for me.

Why is the LOST finale on Sunday?! I mean, it's good because that means it's sooner than I expected, but also I totally would have missed it if I hadn't randomly been watching tv tonight. Btw, I watched the season finale for Grey's Anatomy (I watch this show on and off), and poor Nora Zehetner is always getting shot in the head...

Kpop memes )

I was watching episode 13 of Personal Preference, and suddenly remember I had a dream where Do Bin and Yoon Sub (Chang Ryul's dad) got together. I remember being happy because Do Bin got someone to love (and Yoon Sub got a lot kinder). I have some damn odd dreams sometimes.

I've been thinking more and more about studying overseas. There are a lot of programs in Europe that I like (most are in the Netherlands). And while they are cheaper than American universities, they're still so expensive (over $20,000 a year... admittedly cheaper than the school I was looking at here, which is like, $43,000 a year). Schools in Asia are around $2,000 - 5,000 a year, which is my price range. BUT they either require you to have proficiency in the language (not happening) or don't have a program I want. I know Sweden's colleges are free, but I also know they recently instituted a fee, which will be effective in 2011 (and which will bring the price up to something I don't want to pay).

So question for those who live overseas, or have any experience with non-American higher education -> Do you know of any good and cheap programs? Honestly, I've already got a large debt from undergrad, I really don't want to add to it.

Oh My Lady episode 15 was filled with lovely adorable moments, with hugging, and realizing of true feelings, and all. Also, the part where Ye Eun grabs hold of the Min Woo cardboard cutout's hand was SO CUTE AND SAD.

The number one issue people having with the show is how slow it is. Now, I like slow paced shows/movies/etc, but even if I didn't, I couldn't fault OML for moving slow. It's being realistic. I personally tend to dislike the 'love-at-first-sight' trope, because honestly, that's not real. And because of the plot of this drama (fraught with children) the love naturally would have to come later on.

Anyway, this is the summary for episode 16 (translated by cecilia@soompi)
in woo asks Kae Hwa to return home again and asks her to become Ye eun's mother. Kae Hwa's jaw drops in surprise. After the 1st show for the musical, a celebration party is held and Min woo has fun with everyone in a very natural way as if he was an employee of the Show company. During the party, everyone is telling Kae Hwa to drink but Kae Hwa says that she needs to go and look after the kids and hesitates to drink. But suddenly Min woo becomes her lifesaver and volunteers to drink and drinks it for her. On the other hand, Shi Jun who comes home tells Jung Ah, who is unpacking, that the first performance's response was good and that he will rid of the divorce papers. Minwoo goes to find Byung Hak and asks him what did he actually do to Kae Hwa to make her like that and demands him to apologize for all the things he has done wrong during all this time...

I'm going to be sad to see this one go. I've been watching the previews for Coffee House (they're usually attached to the end of the OML episodes), and it's not really appealing to me much. None of the upcoming kdramas are particularly making me want to watch them. I might give Birdie Buddy a chance because I like UEE, but otherwise, nah.

For jdramas, nothing is really sticking out (save for Hotaru no Hikari 2 of which I'm not terribly fond of. HnH was perfect the way it was, I very much do not need a sequel).

On the other hand, the twdramas are sounding good. I'm DYING to see Year of the Rain, which is based on the Typhoon Morakot disaster of last year. The typhoon hit right before I got to Taiwan, and although I was in Taipei (which was relatively unaffected), it was hard not to hear the news from the south about all the damage and destruction it had caused. I really hope the drama gets subbed.

It's spoilery for episode 14 of Oh My Lady. Not TOO spoilery, since it's stuff we already knew, but yeah.

I flailed. And squealed. And in general acted like I was thirteen.

uisceros: (Hebe as mario?)
It looks like Summer's Desire (aka, Summer of Bubbles, Summer's Bubbles, etc) is going to be airing at the end of May. Apparently the reason the drama had trouble selling was because of the ages of the main actors (Huang Xiao Ming = 32, Da S = 33 Peter Ho = 34). I personally do not see why this is a problem (almost all Taiwanese dramas feature actors who are older than the mean age of Kdrama or Jdrama actors). Jerry Yan is 33, and his drama is popular. The main cast for P.S. Man (which has the highest rating out of all the twdramas airing right now) are all in their early thirties/late twenties.

This is old, but whatever. Awhile ago I was surprised to hear that Eddie Peng was releasing and album. I love Eddie Peng. He's adorable, and a good actor. He also speaks English because he was raised in Canada. I have a thing for foreign born/raised Asian celebrities. I think they appeal more to me, because they're culturally closer to what I identify with.

Either way, Eddie's newest video stars Tiffany Xu (who I always confuse with Bianca Bai for some reason. It's not like I can't tell them apart, especially since Tiffany is half white...). I have a longstanding girlcrush on Tiffany. I'm not the biggest fan of the song (it's ballad, and we all know how I feel about ballads), but the video is nice. Eddie looks hot (especially those arms! Last time I saw him, he did NOT have those arms...). But I find it funny that the thing I noticed the most was that the umbrella in the video looks to be a 7-11 umbrella. One of the white ones. The 7-11 umbrellas are ubiquitous in Taiwan for two reasons: the weather there is unpredictable (SUDDEN RAIN! EXTREME SUN!) so everyone carries umbrellas, and the 7-11 umbrellas are cheap. If I remember correctly, they're only $60NT (uh, less than $2USD). Anyway, on with the video.

Speaking of Tiffany Xu, She's going to be starring alongside Wang Chuan Yi (you all know him as Kingone, but I refuse to call him that), AND Viter Fan in a new drama *high pitched girlish squeal*!!!!! I'm all like, wtf awesome! Viter Fan isn't well known as a drama actor. He's been in a few dramas (including the amazing Crystal Boys), but he's more of a movie actor. Recently he's been involved in a scandal for speaking out about his former relationship with Cyndi Wang (his statements were in bad taste, but I honestly don't think he meant to stir shit up). I'm not letting that infringe on my love for him, however. As for Chuan Yi, I ADORE the man. Add in Tiffany, and it's just plain awesome (Alice Ceng also stars. I haven't seen much of her, but what I HAVE seen, I've liked). The drama's called 就是要香戀, which is roughly translated at something like "Only Want Sweet Love" (I'm guessing here, but since "戀" is more like, longing, or missing someone, there might be a bit more depth to the title than the translation).

In other cpop news, awhile ago S.H.E released a video for their song 愛就對了. It stars Zhang Rui Jia (who next to Zai Zai, is the Taiwanese love of my life). Thus it's guaranteed that I would love it. Because it's RUI JIA, people! The girls look fabulous as well. Ella's still my favorite, but recently I've been liking Hebe a lot more.

This last bit is random. At the end of march Jane Zhang released her newest album. The song is gorgeous (OMG her voice!), but it was the video that caught my attention. It stars another one of my favorite Taiwanese guys (and birthday-mate) Joseph Chang. Course, the big deal about the video was not him, but rather that it also stars Pan Chen (a former contestant from Super Girls, which is essentially the mainland China version of Pop Idol [you know, like American idol]). Anyway, I like this gif. Holy shit Joseph, you're smokin'.

Oh, one more thing! This is old news (About a month ago I had a bunch of Taiwanese stuff to talk about, but then put it off for some reason...), but whatev. Wu Zun is rumored to be in a drama this summer with Rainie. Apparently GTV requested Wu Zun, hoping he would save them in the ratings war. GTV is one of the major networks in Taiwan, but it's been losing in the ratings for awhile to SETTV. SETTV is personally my favorite network (Chen Qiao En works with them a lot), but I can sympathize. And hell, if there's any way to get your ratings back on track, it's to add some Wu Zun. Can't go wrong with that.

Recently my time has been taken up with a variety of oddities. So, um, bullets!

- Twitter. Who knows if I'll keep with it, but I'm totally rocking it right now. I hate the character limit though. I'm naturally long winded, people! (BTW, if you are following me, but I'm not following you, it's because I didn't know who you were, so, uh, let me know)

- My Shine a Light DVD (and Lee Hyori's album) came today! I haven't watched it yet though.

- Last night's episode of Glee made me happy. It was a bit overdone, and didn't last long, but I liked Mercedes trying to fit in, and then deciding to be herself. As someone who also starved themselves in high school to try to fit in (except instead of being a cheerleader, I was an actress), I empathized. But seriously, has anyone EVER had hallucinations of people turning into food when they're hungry? Because I sure as hell haven't.

- Speaking of hungry, OMG SO MUCH. My diet is so boring, what with soy dogs, rice crackers (I LOVE CRACKERS. YOU WILL NEVER TAKE THEM AWAY FROM ME, DIET), beans, yogurt, and piles of seaweed (me and my seaweed... I eat so much of it), I'm pretty monochromatic. I did eat some vegetable sushi today though. That was nice.

- I've been playing a LOT of early 90's DOS computer games. My family had a computer really early in the game (not like, 1970's early, but before personal computers were popular with the masses), and my dad loved Apogee games. I used to play them all the time when I was a kid. Recently I downloaded a bunch, and have had to figure out how to use DOS again.

- Today, I also discovered that I could download video game emulators. I've been playing old SNES games (I totally still have my actual consoles for Atari, NES, SNES, and Nintendo 64 somewhere).

- I was looking up American idioms, and was amused by this one; "As mad as a wrongly shot hog"... I pigs ARE pretty angry when you shoot them. You really want to stay away when that heppens. My great-great-great-great-great grandmother was totally killed by pig (well, a boar, but you get my drift). Apparently they had wild boars in Texas.

- I love how in episode 9 of Personal Preference, Gae In's looking through Jin Ho's drawers, and he totally has a straightening iron. Now, I have nothing against metrosexuals, but that amuses the hell out of me. If you ask any man in my family if they use a straightening iron, every single one of them would not only say no, but probably not know what a straightening iron was. As sad as it is to my ettiquette, I was raised around a motley assortment of beer swilling manly men (sports, cars, the whole deal), and men who are geeks (computers, games, star trek).

Uh, has anyone watched Koishite Akuma? I meant to watch it ages ago, but it was airing at the same time as Buzzer Beat, and obviously Yamapi won that round. [livejournal.com profile] calledinvain had mentioned how ridiculous it was, but OMG I was not prepared for the utter level of badness. IT'S SO BAD, GUYS! I mean, baaaaaad.

That being said, I'm totally going to watch more of it.

Some highlights
- Ruka/Luka/Vampire boy is soooooooo emo. I mean, he wears a black hoodie (to school! *GASP OF INDIGNATION*), steps on pretty flowers, scares dogs, hangs around in the pouring rain (sadly he is no Nagase), makes people on bikes fall over, and sits/stands close to the edges of things (like he's TEMPTING FATE).
- Ruka/Luka/Vampire boy is supposed to be Romanian. Despite being Japanese. And speaking Japanese.
- Elder!Vampire is possibly the most ridiculous character I've ever seen. He CACKLES EVILLY, has naked girls lounging in his bed, resides in this baroque apartment, and is kinda gay with the other vampires. Actually, now that I think about it, he's pretty pimpin.
- Main character girl, (Makoto... is it sad that I can only remember her name because it's Sailor Jupiter's name?) is super pretty, but also annoying. I like her, but do teachers really go that far for their students in Japan?
- Vampire boy keeps making these horrible faces...
- OSCAR FROM HANA KIMI IS THE SCHOOL PRINCIPAL (or something)!! I flailed over that, because come on, it's Oscar! I wish he had facial hair though (As we know from Mei-chan, Oscar + facial hair = HOT)
- At one point in the show, I yelled aloud "YEAH! You slap him, girl! He's insolent!"...
- I AM IN LOVE WITH THE FACT THAT VAMPIRE BOY GETTING HIS FANGS = ERECTION. Like, he keeps trying to get his fangs by smelling girls, and he gets all frustrated that he can't get it up get his fangs. And when he DOES get his fangs (which happens after his teacher and him fall into the water, and she stands up, and OMG YOU CAN SEE HER BRA), he's all like "holy shit! *hides behind an umbrella*". Just take that in for a second. Did I mention he carries around a cheery red girly umbrella?

I also think I might be going to hell, because Nakayama Yuma, who plays the vampire boy, is pretty hot. HE'S ALSO SIXTEEN. He was only fifteen when they filmed this. I am 10 years older than him. I HAVE NEPHEWS OLDER THAN HIM. So creepy. Thanks for that, Japan.

Seriously though, you gotta admit that he's hot (or at least super pretty in the face). The rain doesn't hurt either.

ETA: I just watched the ending... I don't want to watch the rest anymore... It's gonna make me sad.
