I'm (very) slowly getting back to people. I've lacked the stamina recently. But I'm planning on changing real soon. I have a plan. This plan also includes studying, trips to the gym, and cleaning. FUN.

Speaking of the gym... I tried one of Jillian Michaels exercise videos, and HOLY SHIT, it knocked me on my ass. And I'm fairly in shape too (I'm not a gym rat or anything, but I do go there quite a bit)!

But anyway,

I didn't get into music until I was around 11. I didn't start loving music until I was probably in my late teens (seriously). During my childhood I listened mostly to what my mom listened to in the car (oldies), so I never really got into anything (save my lifelong adoration of Billy Joel, but that's another story).

HOWEVER, there is one song I remember loving so much that my brother bought me the tape for Christmas one year (this was 1988, I was 4). I cried when the tape later got lost (and the name of the singer with it [I didn't remember, I was FOUR]), and went for over a decade without finding it again. But I eventually did, and yay, happily ever after.

Omg, I used to be obsessed with the loco motion too when I was little! I think I owned the tape too and would play it constantly!! I remember watching the music video and learning the dance too. Ahaha fun memories XD!

I adored the song. I never learned the dance though, but always wanted to... I thought it'd work for me, since in the song she says her baby sister can do it, and I was like "I'm a baby sister!"

I am so not going to post this on my LJ, but when I was about 9-10 years old, I was obsessed with a country&western song that was in our school song book. I think I'd heard it on cassette or on the radio or something like that :). I was always singing it, and I even remember my parents telling me to stop, because they were getting annoyed XD.

And regarding the previous comment: your tape might very well have gotten "lost" deliberately... Children love to repeat their favourite songs ad nauseam (literally), so it wouldn't be a big surprise that some adult might have felt like "accidentally" losing the tape :D.

Oh John Denver! I love that song. I can imagine your parents getting annoyed with you though!

I wonder now if that's what happened... I hope not! That being said, if my 5 year old nephew was listening to something over and over again, I'd be tempted to make it disappear too!
