uisceros: (Dal Ja & Tae Bong)

I'm in dire need of a Dal Ja's Spring rewatch. I found it on one of my hard-drives earlier, and I've been watching bits and pieces, and OMG the intense love I have for that drama! I do actually think it's my favorite kdrama ever (actually beating out Coffee Prince and Triple... quite a feat).

Only with this rewatch, I am sooooo fast-forwarding through all the parent drama. I HATE parent drama.

Also I have decided I want to be Dal Ja when I'm 32. Or Shan Wu Shuang (from My Queen). Either way, I think I'll be good.

(Speaking of, I think I might need to watch Queen of Housewives. I really like the 30+ lady dramas, and it stars Lee Hye Young, who I REALLY like)

I decided to follow the rest of my peeps, and do my top 12 drama boyfriend list.

In response to [livejournal.com profile] cranberrysheep's Drama Boyfriend Playoffs, I listed my top 12 (well, technically it was 13, but who's counting) ideal drama boyfriends. And then [livejournal.com profile] ambergold and [livejournal.com profile] princess_dexter made more detailed posts, and well, I decided to as well!

And because I wanted pictures (and since a lot of my choices are from dramas I watched ages ago, when I didn't know how to screencap) I didn't have any ready to use caps, so I spent awhile going through my big ol' folder of drama discs. But this also meant I spent awhile rewatching my favorite parts of various dramas. But I'll get to that later.

Amusingly about half are from twdramas. Apparently I still love me some Taiwanese men after all ;P. Oddly, a lot of my choices are from unpopular dramas as well. And I totally have actor repeat offenders (three of them, actually!)

Anyway, list! (Note, the frst 5 aren't really in any concrete order. I love them all too much to choose between them)

Two additional things from today;

1. I was wrong about the ending to Dal Ja's Spring. It killed me. I loved it SO MUCH. It was perfect because both Dal Ja and Tae Bong grew up. Kinda like the 1 year time jump at the end of Hello My Teacher. Just enough time for the people to mature.

Also, still in love with Lee Min Ki. Why hasn't he been in any dramas recently?! (Yes, I know it's because he's been doing bunches of movies, but still...)

I miss the damn show already. It's weird, every single kdrama I've watched I've had a strong reaction to (except for, strangely, Goong. Not that I dislike it, but I'm not flailing about over it).

Crap. Now I want to rewatch Hello My Teacher.

2. My Queen episode 15 also killed me. But in a totally different way. It broke my heart. I'm pretty irritated with Wu Shuang right now. She's so awesome, and she's letting it all drift away because of Yun Hao. Yun Hao isn't a bad guy, but he should realize Wu Shuang is not acting like herself. I REALLY hate how she acts around him, like she's gone soft.

The previews for episode 16 look promising though; Wu Shuang getting back to her hard reporter awesomeness. I love her so much, I can't stand her acting so unlike herself. She acts normal around Lucas!

And God, poor Lucas. My heart is breaking into a million pieces for him, because he's SUCH an amazing guy (seriously, they keep going on about how immature he is, but he's probably one of the most decent, most mature drama heroes I've seen). And he just can't catch a break.

Also; holy shit Jia Jia! She's CRAZY, and not in a good way. Like, freaking psychotic.

I'm planning a huge Dal Ja pimp post, because that drama rules. It also occurred to me that I never posted my picspam/pimp-posts for Anmitsu Hime SP1 (which I watched back in January), Bangkok Love Story, and Twenty Something Taipei. Plus, I did have a huge Coffee Prince write-up that I never posted, and my massive My Girl post (which got deleted right after I finished writing it. Thanks for that, LJ). God knows if I'll ever get them done. I tend to plan big things, and only follow them halfway through. But they're still there, waiting...

That got long, so I'll end. NOW! (But I think I know what I'm watching next...)

I'm one episode from finishing Dal Ja's Spring. And I DON'T WANT TO! I'm going to miss this show so much!

Random pictures!

Chae Rim is beautiful. I have a ton of caps of her just being pretty.

You don't even want to know how many caps I have of Lee Min Ki. It's rather ridiculous.

*sigh* Last episode :(

Then LOST!

I need some LMK / CR / Dal Ja's Spring icons...

ALSO! More things that make me love it; they actually played C'est La Vie by B*Witched! I LOVE that song. God I miss the 90's...

So you know how I said I read spoilers for DJS episodes 21 and 22.

Well they kinda ruined it. WHY DO I DO THIS TO MYSELF?! I hate/love spoilers. I love knowing what happens, but I inevitably am disappointed that I spoiled myself, and then don't want to watch the rest.

I do the same thing with books. Unless I'm REALLY invested in a book, I read the beginning third, then read the end. And then I kinda read backwards for awhile. Sometimes I don't finish the middle...

With dramas I usually have to force myself to get through the late middle episodes, because meeehh resolution is so close, yet so far away...

But regardless, I don't know if I'm going to be able to make it through episode 21 (I will, of course). It's angsty, and not really happy, and WTF TIME JUMP?! I'm hoping episode 22 makes up for it, but I'm not so sure. It's a good ending, but not the "OMG Meredith is completely and utterly satisfied by this ending!" thing. But then, really, when exactly has that happened...

Course now I reread the plot summary of episode 21 and really really want to see it. Way to be super contradictory there, huh?

Seriously, Lee Min Ki, marry me?

God, Dal Ja's Spring. Way to break my heart into a million pieces.
spoilers )

So yeah, hell of a cliffie, and I can't possibly watch any more tonight. I'm exhausted, and my back hurts from sitting in this chair for many hours straight watching DJS. (Course I just read spoilers, so I'm in the loop. *sigh* God damn time jumps! At least it's not as bad as the one in Hello My Teacher. Seriously, what is it with kdramas and their damn time jumps?!)

Sorry I've been lagging on comments! I plan on doing some tomorrow at work. I've been needing a lot more sleep than normal recently, and that cuts into things drastically.
uisceros: (Haru Haru)
Okay, so Dal Ja's Spring has just spent the last 17 episodes doing things I love. Well, they just did something I HATE.

See that whole fish in the middle of the table? Still moving. Still goddamn gasping for air.

I won't get into my politics here, but I do not agree with blatant animal death or abuse on television (yes, I count killing and eating animals as abuse, but that's another story I won't go into at this time). Oh DJS, you were doing SO well. But hey, it's not like I'm going to start hating that show for that reason! Still love it!
uisceros: (Rui Jia)
So you know how Dal Ja's Spring keeps doing things that make me love it?

Well, in the opening for episode 18 they play an instrumental song during one of DJ's fantasies. Listening to it, I was like ".... I know that song from somewhere", and it hit me.

Yup, it was TOTALLY the Sailor Moon Theme Song.

Speaking of Sailor Moon songs, I STILL love a bunch of them (and apparently still know them... I can still "sing along" to them). Some of my favorites;
Route Venus - Probably my favorite
Moon Revenge - Wasn't this from the R movie? For some reason whenever I hear it, I think of Fiore. And then I think of Marmalade Boy, because Midorikawa Hikaru did the voice of Michael in MB...
La Soldier - I LOOOVE this song. Probably because it was the most rock-ish song out of the SM songs.
Sanji No Yosei - Okay, take that back. THIS is my favorite Sailor Moon song. I seriously have this song on my ipod, and listen to it quite a bit. It's the only Sailor Moon song I've saved throughout the years. And I'm talking years; over 10. I have no idea why I love it, maybe because I like singing "Minto pai ni appuru pai"....

The first opening sequence of Weiss Kreuz, in where I fangirl Aya-kun like woah (seriously, I lurve Aya-kun. I named my bonsai trees after him... or rather, his pseudonym...)
uisceros: (My So Called Love)
I pulled another one of my "go for a nap, but end up sleeping for 12+ hours and waking up late for work" things.

So the dilemma; I'm almost finished with Dal Ja's Spring. My Queen is more than halfway done. So while things are winding down, I decided to make a list of stuff I've been thinking of starting/re-starting in the coming days.

My current actively watching list includes: Dal Ja's Spring, My Queen, and Black & White.

Dramas I'm thinking of starting/finishing soon )

Anyone have any other recs? The only spring drama I'm REALLY looking forward to (meaning I am willing to watch as it airs) is Good Health & Fortune. The others I'll wait on.
uisceros: (G-Dragon)
Seriously, sorry about all the posts today, BUT it's official. Good Health & Fortune, the twdrama starring the lovely Chen Qiao En is going to be airing starting on 31May09! SO EXCITED FOR IT! Thank you, Taiwan, for not flaking out of me with this drama.

I'm working my way through all of Qiao En's dramas. I might have to bump 100% Senorita or MVP Valentine (heightened quite a bit because OMG Tony Sun, you're hot!) up my list.

Speaking of which, I'm working on my list right now, trying to get an order to what I'm going to be watching in the near future.

Tonight I'm going to try to finish Dal Ja's Spring, and the rest of the latest episode of My Queen.
uisceros: (GD B&W)
I'm currently taking a short Dal Ja's Spring break. We're at the point in the story where happiness between the OTP is shattered by bitchy secondary girls and lots and lots of misunderstandings. I always have trouble watching these parts (why I haven't finished Densha Otoko yet, despite only having two episodes left). So yeah, short break. A short break that involves me watching My Queen.

FYI: I'm planning a huge picspam / pimp post of Dal Ja's Spring when I finish (only 5 episodes left). I already have pic categories planned.

Anyway, on Saturday I got one of my Big Bang packages; stuff not sold on YesAsia or DVDHeaven. Specifically the CD and Diary/Planner they released for their FILA campaign. The CD had three songs on it, all new (as far as I can tell), including the FILA song, and Dae Sung's trot single 날봐귀순 (Look at Me, Gwi Soon), which is weirdly addictive. There's one more, but for some reason itunes didn't import the song name correctly, and I have no idea how to translate the Korean, so yeah. Also, the diary is REALLY thick, and filled with amazing pics from the FILA photoshoot (including a bunch of group pics with little white kids!). I'm highly pleased by it all!

Big Bang for FILA stuff... picspam )

I just looked up these items on star-thots.com. The FILA Diary is selling for almost $100 there!! I got it for less than a quarter of that.

Haven't watched episode 3 or 4 of B&W yet, so no spoilers for me! I'm planning a massive comment reply today and tomorrow as well.

And oh! Huge playlist is coming sometime soon! It needs editing, but I'm working on it!
uisceros: (Nagase)
Every time I think "Okay, after this episode I'll go to sleep", the goddamn show goes and does something that makes it IMPOSSIBLE for me to ever sleep again without viewing the next episode.

The damn show is crack.

Like, I just finished episode 14, and like, I'm exhausted. It's 5am. But the last few seconds of the episode showed this;

Tae Bong walking into Dal Ja's bedroom as she's changing. AND CLOSING THE DOOR BEHIND HIM.

So thanks, Dal Ja's Spring. Apparently I won't sleep until this series is over.
uisceros: (Bangkok Love Story; Fog)
I have been watching Dal Ja's Spring ALL FREAKING DAY. And I cannot stop watching it. Cannot. It's impossible at this point.

I'm so desperate to find out what happens at the end. Because I'm only halfway through, and already the tension is killing me. KILLING ME.

Mostly I'm worried about a unsatisfying ending ala Full House (really cold emotionless kiss anyone?)

Don't let me down, Dal Ja's Spring! You've made me fall totally irrevocably in love with you. You can't screw me over at the end!

Also, somehow during my marathon of it today, I missed episode 4 completely. Makes sense, as when I watched episode 5 I was all confused about the prior happenings. I was starting to think they were some sort of flash forwards, and spent the next few episodes looking for that scene. I didn't realize I had skipped it until after episode 8.

Anyway, episode 12 here I come!
uisceros: (Toma-kun katana!)
Seriously, this drama WANTS me to love it. Dal J and Tae Bong stuck in a hotel room during a snowstorm, and hearing people having sex in the next room?!

Kdrama, you've outdone yourself.
uisceros: (Mike He)
Dal Ja's Spring is doing EXACTLY the right things to get me to fall in love with it.

Dal Ja's ringtone is an ABBA song. The played the goddamn IMPERIAL MARCH from Star Wars as background music (did I ever mention I had a CD full of Star Wars disco music? No? Must be because it's super dorky. Oh well, secret's out....)

And now they're in a nightclub dancing to 1970's American music (Bee Gees, The Village People...).

Seriously, could this show get ANY better?!

Almost every single time Sae Do is on screen, I squeal with delight and laugh hysterically. Here he is doing his best John Travolta!

I want to go to this Korean nightclub SO BADLY! Line dancing to 70's music?! Yes please!

Random fact: I learned line dancing in high school gym class. A fancy college prep high school in Massachusetts... We're not that big on country music here. But hey, if the occasion calls for it, I could probably remember some steps.
uisceros: (S.H.E)
I don't know why, but whenever I watch kdramas I have this weird visceral reaction to them.

I'm totally and completely in love with Dal Ja's Spring. I love falling in love with dramas.

Chae Rim is totally one of the prettiest people ever. I cap her alot.

Also, I LOOOOOVE her hair. I've always wanted to get a perm.

And yup, still in love with Lee Min Ki.

A few more caps )

Two random bits of fun;
1. My workplace won't let me log on to DVDHeaven, because they say it had "adult content"... it doesn't (as far as I can tell). It's a place to buy Korean merchandise/music. My workplace allows YesAsia, and YesAsia does sell the adult stuff.
2. I bought a Comic Boyz song on itunes today. Seriously. Mandopop on itunes! And old mandopop at that! I'd never been able to find this particular song for download, so I jumped at the chance.

DVDHeaven has some lovely engrish going on! I got an email from them last night that was titled "Your goods was sent already" Yeeeah.

Also; my playlist has gotten a ton longer. It's up to 68 songs. I need to edit it! 60% is Mandopop. As much as I love K-pop, I've got to stay true to my roots!
uisceros: (DG)
So you know how Wu Shuang (from My Queen) is a totally awesome goddess-like entity?

Well, she just got herself a partner in my "Awesome drama chicks who rule the world with their kickass-ness club".

Because Dal Ja is totally teh shit.

I totally fell under the awesome-spell when I saw this scene. Dal Ja slipping on a fish, and causing a bunch more fish to fall around her. I knew I would love her from that moment.

Also; OMFG !!!! fkja'dojkhwerjfb... *speechless*

Lee Min Ki, can I marry you please?
uisceros: (Jack)
Oh Dal Ja's Spring. You had me at the ABBA song.

Also, contemplating a puppy. Probably irresponsible, considering I plan on going to Taiwan in the fall...
