uisceros: (Ming Dao)

*sigh*

Well this just really sucks;

Breaking news (to me at least... I've kinda been off the ball, drama wise recently): CTS changed the format (and name) of one of the dramas I've been most looking forward to for about 6 months, Quietly Falling in Love With You.

This angers me greatly. GREATLY.

I very nearly pulled a Perez and crossed out Dylan. But that felt unfair to him, since I DO like him, and it's not his fault CTS hates me.

They changed the name to Knock Knock Loving You, which is seriously stupid! "Quietly Falling in Love With You" was a beautiful name, elegant, poetic. "Knock Knock Loving You" sounds like a stupid ass song from late 90's. I should know by now that Taiwan likes to change their titles RIGHT BEFORE the show airs (in this case, they even changed the Mandarin title. It used to be 悄悄爱上你, now it's 敲敲愛上你)

Also, I do like Dylan Kuo, but I like Ming Dao more. This was supposed to be a Ming Dao vehicle. He was the star, but somehow that changed.

I love Ming Dao. I have ever since I saw him in PTtF, which apparently not as many people have seen as I would have thought. I like him as an actor as well as a person. I like his story (his family was super poor when he was younger, and he used to work in his families food stall when he was a child), and how he's never ashamed of how he used to be poor. I generally just like him.

So basically this drama is partially ruined for me. I'm not really excited about it anymore (though it's not like Ming Dao is GONE, so I'll probably eventually watch it).

I've been highly dissapointed with twdramas recently (not the dramas themselves, really. More the television companies who keep screwing things up). They keep getting canceled, or delayed, or whatever. It's highly irritating.

I can honestly day, the only upcoming twdrama in the spring season I am really excited for anymore is B&W. And Qi Lin House of Love (if that EVER airs). Slow season.

I'm really excited for Dylan Kuo, but I had no idea they benched the intended star. WTF?

[identity profile] uisceros.livejournal.com 2009-04-01 08:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm almost certain that Ming Dao was the lead. Everything I had read previously said that... I love twdramas, but man, they're really getting irritating.

But yay for Dylan! (Though he also had a starring role in a drama airing currently... poor Ming Dao hasn't had a starring role in awhile)

Mousie posted about this awesome-looking historical drama he was in, but I haven't been able to find downloads. *tear* He was SO GOOD in The Outsiders.

[identity profile] uisceros.livejournal.com 2009-04-01 09:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh yeah! I remember reading that!

I actually haven't seen him in anything where he had a significant role... He IS in White Robe of Love, which I want to see if I can ever find subs for it...

[identity profile] darkeyedwolf.livejournal.com 2009-04-01 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
I wanna see that too!! It has three out of four stars from The Outsiders in new roles. *laughs*

[identity profile] uisceros.livejournal.com 2009-04-02 01:09 am (UTC)(link)
I know it has Michael Zhang, who is one of my favorite tw-actors ever! I enjoy watching him quite a bit...

Can't remember if you are in the US or not, but if you are, Men & Legends (the period drama) might be on netflix. I'd upload it for you, but it's .vob files and the subs are separate and I have no idea how to sync or whether it would play.

[identity profile] darkeyedwolf.livejournal.com 2009-04-01 11:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Sadly I don't do netflix, but I'm hoping it'll turn up on the internet someday.

[identity profile] dangermousie.livejournal.com 2009-04-01 09:40 pm (UTC)(link)
starring role in a drama airing currently

*hijacks* Which drama? *ears perk*

[identity profile] uisceros.livejournal.com 2009-04-01 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Prince + Princess 2. It hasn't gotten terribly good ratings or reviews so far, but that doesn't mean anything, really. I think it's one of those flufftastic awkward-but-spirited heroine and rich-extremely-handsome hero things that Taiwan does so well.

I haven't watched it yet, and probably won't for awhile, but it seems cute enough! It's being subbed (slowly) by DoReMii.

Is it (I am inferring from the poster) that Ming Dao is supporting in this drama? Am not sure. It's fine with me because I *gasp* don't like him, but am sorry on your behalf.

I am, however, giddy on mine because I adore Dylan! *hides*

Yup, apparently he plays the second male lead. I'm not totally sure... I think a lot of people don't like him terribly, and I don't know why! I love him!

Hehehe! I like Dylan a lot, and normally I'd be all excited for him. But I do like Ming Dao more...

Er I don't see why people don't like Ming Dao. What make you think so? He's talented as an actor, I do enjoy watch his acting. As a person, he's warm, caring, humble, he's quite straight-forward but never rude. I love him, A LOT!!!

I find Dylan cool, tall and handsoml but I think that's the end of his merit. I'm not attracted to his acting

[identity profile] uisceros.livejournal.com 2010-01-15 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
I don't see it either, actually! I'm not sure, it just seems like a lot of people I know have a negative reaction to him.

I adore him too, and I agree his personality is amazing. I love how humble he is, and the fact that he had to go through so much during his childhood makes him all the more likable to me.

I haven't seen Dylan in a lot of stuff, so I can't exactly comment well on him, but I like him enough :D

(Anonymous) 2010-01-16 05:22 am (UTC)(link)
I guess most of those negative comments are baseless like his skin, his look his eyebrow or sth like that. Yup, I like his personality. I know MD is very stingy to himself but not others. He could use the same bag or clothes 4 years ago but never hesitated to donate $1million for earthquake victims. He could be too straightforward or too absorbed in his work that sometimes he doesn't really care much about surroundings. But it's rare occasion and because he take his work very seriously. I think it's fine since that's we called "professional"

No, I'm just not a fan of Dylan, I'm absolutely NOT an anti-fan, it's not like I don't watch a drama if he's in it. If the plot is good, I will give it a try.

Anw, I like your blog and your thoughts, please keep it up!!!

Knock Knock what are you talking about this is a great title knock knock:)
What was the dorama Ming Dao was in- PTtF?
the funny thing is I love Dylan and yet haven't seen him in anything yet! I have the first 11 eps of the Outsiders but and reluctant to start it as I know the ending *sob*

[identity profile] uisceros.livejournal.com 2009-04-02 02:22 am (UTC)(link)
Hehe! And I thought ToGetHer was bad...

Um, Prince Turns to Frog? It's the second most popular twdrama ever... I would have pegged more people to have seen it. He's also been in Ying Ye 3+1, which I quite liked.

I haven't seen him in anything yet either (save for a small cameo role in The Rose). I doubt I could handle something like The Outsiders right now... I haven't felt like watching depressing things lately. Like, I keep meaning to watch Silence, but oh, the tragedy!

[identity profile] xiaobellsa.livejournal.com 2009-04-02 02:28 am (UTC)(link)
Ahhh! No I haven't seen that one, I'm severely lacking in my twdrama's at present- damn kdramas keep getting in the way!
You really have to work yourself up to those ones you KNOW end bad. I can't finish Silence- nooooooooooo Vic!

[identity profile] uisceros.livejournal.com 2009-04-02 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
It's a great one, one of the ultimate defining twdramas, if you ask me.

I understand what you mean! For me it's jdramas. Twdramas are so long, I get distracted super easily by the short jdramas.

I know! It's like prepping yourself to be utterly crushed! Watching and not knowing is almost better (almost... I did get ridiculously crushed by Summer Snow by not knowing the ending beforehand)

I hear it's wonderful, but Zai Zai dying? I don't know if I can deal with the angst.

[identity profile] ambergold.livejournal.com 2009-04-02 07:11 am (UTC)(link)
haha. how weird. I JUST did a blog post on this here -
http://asiacollision.wordpress.com/2009/03/30/upcoming-taiwanese-drama-quietly-falling-in-love-with-youknock-knock-loving-you/

I'm the opposite of you though, I actually prefer Dylan Kuo so I was happy the leads changed.

[identity profile] uisceros.livejournal.com 2009-04-03 05:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Hehe! That IS weird! It's like a sudden windfall of QFILWY news! (Still refuse to call it KKLY)!

I like Dyland plenty, and if it were most any actor, I'd be pleased with the switch. But I love Ming Dao, so naturally I am sad.

love ming dao

i was very very disappointed that Ming dao is in supporting role. I am watching this righ now and I have to say that all i do is fast fwd to Ming dao section. Dylan is cute but his acting and charisma is lacking
