I think it's a drama thing in general. I don't think I've seen one drama where gay guys aren't walking rainbows of glitter and flounce. It's the same with Spanish telenovelas. If the guy doesn't put on some sparkly eye shadow and sashay from some place to another, then he's definitely not gay.

I think you're right. I do think there is one gay twdrama where they're not queens, but I haven't watched it yet... As horrible and stereotypical as it is, I kinda like the glittery gays! Ahh, thanks for the info about the telenovelas... I'll keep that in mind ;P

Yup! It's called Crystal Boys, and it's sadly unsubbed. I have the raws, which I will totally watch one of these days! The Taiwanese do gay pretty well. You should see Formula 17, which has non-sterotypical gays, and glittery drag queen-ey gays!

If they're anything like soaps, then I doubt anything has changed...

It's an older drama, and it's a lot more political than most dramas, so I think that's why it never really got subbed. Too bad. I would have liked to understand it.

Ahh! So it is! It is on my list of dramas to watch from this season. So I've been downloading it. But since I haven't finished the stuff from LAST season, it will have to wait. I'm almost done with Mei-chan (actually I almost finished the last ep, but then I got distracted by emails XD!) Then I've got about at least 3 other series to watch. I'm glad that Japanese dramas aren't that long hahaha.

Oh! Mei-chan! I LOOOVED Mei-chan! The ending is weirdly good for a jdrama (more often than not I'm dissatisfied with jdrama endings...)

I'm in the middle of watching 27 series (only a few actively though)... Most as twdramas. I like the shortness of jdramas too! One of the reasons why I tend not to finish twdramas as much is that they're SO LONG.
