What I've been watching, or rather, the lack of what I've been watching

For the first time in, oh, more than a year I am completely and utterly clueless about currently airing dramas. I can only name about 7, which is INSANE.

On top of that, I'm only watching one (kinda).

I've been following You're Beautiful, if not necessarily watching it as it airs. I have all the episodes downloaded, but I've only watched one full episode so far. I'm still highly amused that it stars Jang Geun Seuk, who I previously only knew as a musician. I seriously didn't know he was an actor at all... when I first saw him, I was like ".... hey, 'Toucholic'!"

And, well, that's is. I occasionally download and watch random things. Like right now I'm trying Fantasy Couple. I tried watching Next Stop Happiness, but honestly, it was too baffling for me to watch without subs (and without the use of rewind and pause so I could read the Chinese). And I wasn't excited enough about it to download. So whatever. I'm not huge on family stories anyway (I really just don't like children in dramas [should probably make the "in dramas" part clear...]).

WHICH REMINDS ME!

I wonder sometimes about this. I DO NOT consider myself having completely watched a drama if I've fast-forwarded through any part of it. But I know that some people do it. I don't know why though. I often find a lot of detail in the smaller parts. It's kinda like cheating to me. Like skimming a book and saying I've read it. (Of course I know different people have different watching styles, but I just can't do it that way)

I'm a completest to a fault. If I miss, or don't understand something, I will rewind and rewatch until I do (and believe me, sometimes it takes a lot of rewinding). I wonder if this is why it often takes me a long to watch stuff as compared to others.

We're getting residual typhoon rain, so it's been gross the past few days. Tonight we're going to chill and watch The Frighteners, and I'm going to drink some heavily sweetened Oolong Tea (not fancy tea, I wouldn't dare to sweeten that!). And tomorrow we might go to Alleycats for some good Western style pizza (WITHOUT CORN, thank God... weird Taiwan and it's corn), and maybe some shaved ice (oh God, is shaved ice amazing, seriously, I wasn't too convinced at first, but seriously, the stuff is magic and so good).

再見, 我的電腦朋友!

SHAAAAAAAVED IIIIIIIIIIIIIICE. Or rather, shaved MILK.

Are you ready to watch the movie now? I am, so if you want to go ahead and start it now then we might as well watch it now (let's see how many times I can say "now"..)

You put me to shame. Only about 30% of the dramas I have seen I watched in their entirety. I often get way too tired with unnecessary secondary characters and Korean/Japanese humour is not my thing - it is too OTT. But to be fair, these 30% are the dramas that are in my faves .

!!! Next Stop Happiness is so NOT a family story!!! haven't you been reading mine and [livejournal.com profile] dangermousie's posts on Autumn's Concerto?? it's an angsty, delicious love story with hurt/comfort, good-girl-reforming-bad-boy, hockey, evil stepfather ala Mars, and tons of themes taken straight from both Mars and the Outsiders, while managing to have its only lovely delicate bitterwsweet vibe at the same time!

anyway...all of which is to say, you should watch until at least the end of the 2nd episode:) - 2nd ep is where I was hooked.

also, how can you resist Vanness?

I have an almost pathological resistance to ffing; I'm always afraid I'll miss that one pivotal scene that explains everything or adds some touch of subtlety to make me completely revise my opinion of a character. (It's happened.)

The only times I can remember ffing are during dramas I just didn't care that much.

I am like that too. I am crazy about seeing ALL of something. If I don't watch (and pay attention to) every scene, I don't consider that I've seen it. Who knows what I missed? It could have been important! It extends to always finishing episodes/movies, even when I hate them, although I've been trying to break myself of that, that is just pain. I have never fast-forwarded, if I couldn't watch it without fast-forwarding, I can't watch it at all.

Woo, completists! : )

Yay Jang Geun Suk!! I've loved him sing the Hong Gil Dong drama! (Did you watch that one btw? He played prince Chang Hui in it.)I've been downloading the new dramas, that one plus heading to the ground and now Iris (TOP!!), but haven't been able to watch anything because I have alot of other stuff to watch that is still old. (I still gotta watch byakuyakou man!)

I couldn't say I watched something and have fast forwarded through it! (Though one time a group of us decided, we're going to see the last matrix movie at the theaters! But I had NEVER seen even one matrix movie at the time. So they had the first two and we watched them on fast forward lol only stopping at important parts and they paraphrased for me XD!!) Anyway back on topic, I'm someone who would rewind and watch a part again too! I'm also someone who if a part of a movie or even a part of a book was esp. cute or something I'd go back and rewatch it or reread it multiple times before moving on haha XD~

I totally feel the same way about fast-forwarding. I'd be too worried that I'd miss a big reveal and then spend all sorts of time rewinding and ending up spending more time than I needed too. I just do not understand people who fastforward.
