I love cell phone photos. Not because they're good, by any means, but because often they're random. It's what you want to capture at the moment, and then usually (if you're like me) you forget about it. Later, when you look back at them, it's almost like a surprise.

I finally emptied out of cell phone memory card, and some of the stuff is amusing. I also discovered a bunch of photos from Taiwan that I never took off.

Anyway, I'll start with the latest.

Arboretum
I got to the arboretum every year in early spring to see the magnolias bloom (I love magnolias, unfortunately they only bloom for about a week this far up north). It was funny, because nothing is green yet, but we have flowers!

I took this in the bog area. The area was pretty flooded, but not badly enough that I couldn't make my way around.

There were even flowers (bloodroot)!

I love this picture, it's very "Secret Garden".

And what I went to see, magnolias. These are the star magnolias. The yellow lantern magnolia hadn't bloomed yet. That one is my favorite.

Chinese New Year
In mid February, I went to the dragon dance celebration for Chinese New Year in Chinatown.

I randomly took pictures of the Boston subway, because I was generally irritated by how bad it was compared to Taiwan. I like how I took this picture apparently at Davis Square. You can also totally see part of my nephew sitting next to me...

A random banner one of the dragon dance groups were carrying. At this moment the major, or someone was speaking. I can't tell about the top part, but the bottom part says "太氣門". I... really can't translate that. It's not making sense to me.

DRAGONS. DANCING.

The big old Chinatown gate. And possibly some port-o-potties...

Mangrove Reserve
This was one of the last things we did in Taiwan. Though we lived right across from the mangrove reserve, we waited until the end to see it (I actually did go to it before, when I had to climb over a wall to get out of the subway station...).

Mangroves! You can see where our apartment was about. See those buildings way back there on the hill? Our building was next to them.

If I didn't know any better, from my pictures it looks like Taiwan was always cloudy! Believe me, and my permanent tan when I say it got sunny there too.

This picture is so Taiwanese to me. Random Chinese shrine/building, a scooter, giant ass power lines, etc. Makes me miss it there a lot.

Random!
Random pictures of all sorts, including Taiwan, Korea, hot guys, cats, EVERYTHING.

I think this is a view from the plane over California. I was entranced by the mountains.

Inky, the evil-eyed cat. He's actually the sweetest cat ever, but he's jet black, and his eyes are bright orange, which can be disconcerting.

I took this in early summer last year. It's at my favorite museum.

Sandy Pond. Near the aforementioned museum.

Random picture I took while driving around one day last year. Areas like this are why I love Massachusetts.

I LOVE THIS SHOE. It's high heeled, so I couldn't walk in it, but I adore it so. I took this picture in Nordstroms last July. Incidentally this was not the first time I saw these shoes (AT NORDSTROMS), the first time being at least a year or two previously.

Bus Schedule. This is from the bus stop at Hongshulin (where we lived), and these are all the buses that would take us to Carrefour.

Christmas decorations in the Taipei 101 mall.

Zai Zai advertising a camera in city hall station.

A crane, or at least a bird that looks like a crane. This is from Danshui.

RANTY SHACKS!

This is from the Incheon airport in Korea. See the banner? Totally Big Bang. I was very much trying to take pictures of all the Big Bang banners I saw without getting noticed. This one was easy, but some I was in the store trying to take pictures.

Like this one... Lisa was pretending to read it, so I could get a picture of Big Bang.

Statue of Hachiko in Tokyo (took forever to get this picture... there were ladies in front of us that didn't know how to use the camera, and it took awhile). I don't know what was up with my camera, but the first day of sightseeing in Japan, and I had to use my phone for pictures. Incidentally I made Lisa take pictures of huge Arashi billboards for me.

This was on the way back from the airport in Taipei (thus all my luggage). We saw this hot guy, and we were like "WOW, HE'S HOT", so I decided to take a picture of him sleeping (incidentally I took a lot of pictures of people sleeping while in Asia. At least four... most of them were bums). I'm so creepy.
