The latest fannish happenings in Meredith-land

Okay, several things;

1. Finished My Boss, My Hero. At this time, I honestly think Nagase may have usurped Shun-kun as my favorite j-actor (I think they're tied), which is HUGE. Shun was not only my first Japanese actor crush, but my first Asian drama-boy crush in general. But OMG Nagase. Whenever I see him I freak out a little bit. It's kinda embarrassing, the amount of girlish squee I let fly when I see him.

So I needed another picspam.

Would it be bad if I flew to Japan, and spent all my energy stalking him? Because, honestly, I'm THIIIS close.

2. Haagen Dazs' in Taiwan are a whole hell of a lot nicer than they are in the US.


And while the whole engagement ring in the dessert thing is kinda cliche, I still melted quite a bit during that scene in My Queen (not a spoiler, it was a flashback).


See! Even the ice cream is fancier at Taiwanese Haagen Dazs'! That one is called a "Love Poem". See the Shakespeare poem under the ice cream? Can't make out which one it is.

3. I (finally) finished watched episode 19 and 20 of BBF. I'm going to post my thoughts in a separate post, because this one is getting long.

4. I'm not sure what my next drama will be. I kinda want to watch Dal Ja's Spring, but I also want to watch something with Nagase in it... Plus, I need to finish The Rose. And Black & White starts soon, so I want something relatively quick... Meh! Decisions decisions. Plus I just got a HUGE book on Taiwanese history that I want to read...

Boys Before Flowers episodes 19 and 20 liveblogs (kinda)

So yes. Watched episodes 19 and 20 of Boys Before Flowers. I didn't do a full liveblog, but I did write down some thoughts. And took some caps! So yes...

A lot of my thoughts don't make a whole hell of a lot of sense... And I only started notes for episode 19 about halfway through...

I just started to watch episode 21, and I just can't. Not right now at least. Episode 20 was so good and sweet, and in the first freaking minute of episode 21, in walks in Jae Kyung AND evil Mom while Jun Pyo and Jan Di are finally getting somewhere! God, the agony!

I'm currently wading through the masses of applications I have to submit very soon.

I'm applying for the Taiwanese government scholarship for Mandarin study. That's the important one, the one that is due by the end of the month. It doesn't determine if I will be going to Taiwan, but it helps.

I'm also applying to a variety of Mandarin learning centers.

My top choice is Fu Jen Catholic University, which has a good program, and might be able to provide a dorm.

I'm also applying to the programs at National Taiwan Normal University (the most well know Mandarin training program), and National Taiwan University.

I'm also going to most likely apply to Aletheia University, Ming Chuan Univsersity, National Chengchi University, and really any program that is in or around Taipei. Several look good, so I'm torn. I have awhile though. The programs don't start until September for fall term, or December for winter term.

Holy crap is the whole thing scary as all hell!

Last Two YesAsia Shipments

I took less pictures this time around, because I figured not everyone is as obsessed with seeing pictures of everything as I am.

I got these last week, but have been either sick, or too tired to do much about it until now.

So you know how I have 8 million things I'm currently watching...

( Well, not exactly, 8 million, more like 20... )

Well, I just added a bunch more. I've started downloading Utahime, Tiger & Dragon, and Dal Ja's Spring. Plus thanks to dangermousie's recent post, I'm now in the middle of downloading the Peach Girl anime (I seriously cannot resist pimp posts. They pull me in EVERY TIME, which is good, since I discover some really good stuff via pimp posts!)... Because apparently I didn't have enough to watch already. (NOT including all the stuff I have on my computer/hard drives waiting to be watched)

( And yeah, I have about 13 more things I haven't even started yet )

I have two external hard drives, and I'm making the most of both ;P

I was totally going to start either Utahime or Tiger & Dragon tonight, but nope. Not tonight. I COULD still watch one, it's only 12:45am (which is, actually, still pretty early for me. I seriously usually only sleep around 4 hours a night), but nah. Too much work (the work being opening the file, sitting her, and not falling asleep).

God I'm lazy.
