Seriously, It's a sickness or something.

Yeah. It's weekly now.

I will defend myself here, and say that I spend money on very little else. I think my biggest bill (other than school loans) is grocery. And since I basically only eat/buy soydogs and noodles, it's not like I'm spending a fortune on it.

First the music, because it's rather predictable.

Big Bang 2nd Mini Album - Hot Issue - Probably my least favorite of the mini albums, but it DOES have my (slightly second) favorite song on it (Last Farewell), so that makes up for it. I've been VERY pleased with my other Big Bang albums, so I naturally want to complete the set. *is a huge complete-ist*

2 Face (Commemorate Edition) (CD+DVD) (Taiwan Version) - Hugely not a surprise. I've been planning to buy this from the beginning. Definitely my second favorite album of theirs.

Big Bang : 3rd Mini Album - Stand Up - I like 5 out of the 6 songs on this album. Which is REALLY good. And yeah. I'm getting them all.

Twenty Something Taipei - A movie! I was randomly searching for Cheryl Yang stuff (mostly to see if the My Queen OST has been released for pre-order), and found this movie she'd been in. It sounds REALLY good, and it has Ehlo Huang in it!! We all know how much I love my 183 Club peeps. I've been highly impressed and entertained by all the other Taiwanese movies I've seen in the past, so yeah. Only bad thing; it's region 3, so it won't play on my DVD player.

I was VEEERRY tempted to preorder Jolin's new album, but I decided to wait a little longer and heard more of the songs before I commit to buying it.

Also; One of the best collectible items I've seen recently; 5566 Long Time No see Tissue Box Holder... Yeah.

You know that when GD and TOP drop their solo albums (SOOOOON), I'm going to be ALL over that... And I've heard rumors, but is there going to be another Big Bang album this year? If so, it'll probably be a mini album, ne? Either way, I'd be totally excited.

ALSO, I might be going on a mini drama/blogging hiatus for a few days starting on the 24th/25th. Why? Because City of Glass, the last book in the Mortal Instruments trilogy is being released that day. And I will need to read it nonstop until it's finished. At which point I will become upset that there is no more to read. And then I will content myself with fanfic for a few days until the ennui wears off.

I've been a fan of Cassie's since I first read Draco Dormiens oh so many years ago (in the heyday of fabulous Harry Potter fanfic. Not that there isn't still a lot of good stuff, I just miss the old fics by Lori, AngieJ, Heidi, etc). I basically haven't stopped reading her stuff since 2001. I'm highly saddened that one of my favorite trilogies is coming to an end, but what can you do. At least I get to see if Jace and Clary are actually related (I'm betting not, but you never know).

Heh, at least with me it's only monthly. 15th of every month (or the previous Friday, if it falls on a weekend) is a big shopping day for me, since I get my salary :). Lately it's mostly been books (book order from Amazon.com on the way) and Japanese CDs/DVDs, though this time I also ordered Alan Kuo's latest album in addition to some other things.

Whatever people think of downloads (some fandoms I'm in are pretty rabid about not uploading any official releases), I always view them as excellent preview material. If I really like something, it's very likely I will also buy the actual CD. I've also discovered several new artists I would never have discovered otherwise by trying out various random downloads in music communitites.

Hehehe! I manage to justify it, but it IS kinda excessive.

Ohh! I've actually never gotten into Show's music. I might, eventually, since I love him quite a bit, but not now.

I feel the same way about downloads. I have every single Big Bang and Fahrenheit CD already downloaded, but I love them so much I'm willing to buy the songs that I already have. I think online music is essential for people who wouldn't otherwise hear it. Like, they're not going to be playing mandopop or kpop on the radio here in the US. The only way I would be able to find it, and eventually love it, is to download it.

It didn't hit me until a second after I posted that comment...

Is your icon Huang Yi Da?! I LOOOVE him!

[identity profile] vierran45.livejournal.com 2009-03-19 05:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, it's Huang Yi DA. I love "Chou Nan Ren" from Devil Beside You and check a couple more of his songs on Youtube and ended up ordering both his available albums after that. I've got all three of his published albums now.

Ths is another example of finding a new artist by hearing him online, downloading something, and eventually buying everything he's appreared on :D.

Tank is another Taiwanese artist I love. Have you heard anything by him? He's at least done a couple of songs for the Taiwanese Hana Kimi.

I think I did the exact same thing. I absolutely fell in love with 臭男人 from DBY, so I downloaded his second and third albums. I have all four of his albums downloaded, but I think I can only get the newest one on YesAsia. I was looking the other day.

Heh! See! Downloading is good!

I love TANK too! I like his Hana Kimi stuff, but I think my favorite is the song he did for the Bull Fighting OST.

I could say my fave Taiwanese artist are Huan Yi Da, Tank and Jay Chou. I like some drama-related songs by Fahrenheit as well, but they never made interested enough to buy any of their albums.

Despite Jay Chou being the most famous Taiwanese artist, I've actually never heard any of his songs. With Taiwanese music, I find most of my favorite artists from OSTs, and he hasn't been on any I've heard yet.

My favorite Taiwanese band is Fahrenheit. I also really like S.H.E, Jolin Tsai, 183 Club, 5566, Huang Yi Da (obviously!), Jasmine Leong, and 7 Flowers.

Ok, I absolutely love Jay Chou's end theme song for Curse of the Golden Flower (GORGEOUS looking movie, even though all the characters are corrupt.)!

菊花台 by Jay Chou (周杰倫).'

He's pretty much Chinese hiphop, and I'm not that fond of hiphop. Still, he does have some good songs as well.

That's a super pretty song! I guess I'm going to have to investigate him now ;) Thanks for the download!!

I actually like hip hop, more than I ever thought I would. I mean, Big Bang is hip hop, and they're currently my favorite band ever.
