I was watching the Big Bang Hana Yori Dango parody, and OMG how did I not notice this before?!
The song they play in the last scene of the parody is THE KOREAN VERSION of the opening / theme song to Meteor Garden (Qing Fei De Yi)!! (I know that song basically by heart... they always used to play it at commercials breaks (like how they do in anime) so I heard it a lot...)
It begins at around 4:46 (seriously, Dae should NEVER dress in drag).
Oh God I miss this show...
IMO the Mandarin version is better...

Date: 2009-05-12 12:07 am (UTC)Also, um...I have been watching some of the clips you've been posting and Big Bang is confusing me to death! They're a hip-hop group? A boy band? Both? What is their deal, exactly?

Date: 2009-05-12 01:04 am (UTC)Hmmm, how shall I explain the awesomeness that is Big Bang... I suppose the easiest would be that they are a combination; hip hop boyband. Kpop is a lot more dance and hip hope based that most other genres of pop I've seen. Big Bang is the more hip hop than most, but I'd say 90% of the kpop bands are like that to an extent. This confused me at first too. What I listened to before (Mandopop) was very typical pop, so Big Bang (who were my first Kpop band) surprised me.

Date: 2009-05-12 02:35 am (UTC)I think what keeps tripping me up are them in commercials in bright pastels selling ice cream and what not. That's not the image I'm used to with rappers, so every time I see Big Bang, I'm like, are they supposed to be the boys next door? or bad boys? If that makes sense.
I do like that mvid, Haru, Haru(?). Good song. So far I've seen three videos and two of them were total angst-fests.

I LOVE Haru Haru! They definitely have their angsty stuff, but they also have their really fun stuff too! Actually, I think they have more of the goofy videos. Haru Haru and Lies are probably the angstiest.

Date: 2009-05-12 10:52 pm (UTC)I have to agree that Dae is definitely one that should never dress drag lol. But OMG Top as Tsukasa is AWESOME! And GD is Rui!! Can you get any better than that!? (It's a bit weird how they use the Japanese names in the dialogue, though I assume this is before the Korean drama came out. The way they say "Tsukasa" sounds sooooo weird. Almost like "Chukasa" XD lmao.) I love all the random English XD "SHIT" "OMG!" "Are you OK?"
I want to be anal about some of the subbing but I won't GAHHH! lol
