So quick update before I try to dull the Triple withdrawal pain by watching hot Japanese boys fighting (Crows Zero);

Thanks so participating in my poll! (I never did a poll before because I was always like "what is no one votes?!") It seems that people want me to do a D/Hr rec list, so I'm going to work on it this weekend! I'm excited. It'll be hard finding some of the fics because the closure of Contra Veritas, but I WILL PREVAIL.

As for the other recs, Gokusen is popular. And since I've read almost every single Shinkumi fic on the net (seriously, I think I've read them all...), I can easily do that. Pirates will be fairly easy too. Firefly is trickier, but I do know of some places.

But why no love for Alias?! Alias is/was/probably forever will be my favorite tv show. I adored it. I'll still probably throw some in there as well just because ;D

But I do want to let people know; I don't read gen fic. I'm a shipper, and so that's what I read. And I will probably only rec fics that are in my ship (mostly because I tend not to read out of ship). So essentially what I'm saying when I list fandoms is this;
Gokusen = Shinkumi (Shin/Yankumi)
Pirates = Sparrabeth (Jack/Elizabeth)
Firefly = Mal/Kaylee (with a smidge of Jayne/Kaylee as well)
Alias = Sarkney (Sark/Sydney)

Us shippers really like our portmanteau words, huh?

Anyway, I'm a niche shipper. My range is a bit bigger in HP (my other main ships include Tonks/Remus, Narcissa/Sirius, and Ron/Luna), so I can give a wider variety there.

I was like that with polls as well, and it's always a pleasant surprise when people vote (especially people you don't know, which was the case with my Kame vs Yamapi poll, I only knew half the voters!)

I'm a niche shipper as well - I see some people reading all sorts of things but I'm such a romantic that I generally fixate on my OTP and that's all I can ever read. Luckily we seem to have the same tastes (except in Firefly, I'll read gen stuff as well as Mal/River and Simon/River if the mood strikes) and I really wish I'd gotten past season two of Alias because the idea of Sark and Sydney is so so delicious. I'll be internetless for a few weeks soon (am moving on Saturday!) so I might take that opportunity to finish Alias and then you can rec me some awesome fics. :D

I got a few people I didn't know too. Made me quite excited ;D

I'm exactly the same way. I can almost never read fics that breaks up my OTP. Like for Harry Potter, I would never be able to read Ron/Hermione, or Ginny/Draco, simply because it screams "WRONG" to me. Yay for same tastes! For Firefly I have read other ships (though never Mal/Inara... I hate Mal/Inara for some reason), but I've been a Mal/Kaylee shipper before I even watched the show (long story). I have read, and do like Simon/River because that whole thing has "incest-tastic" written all over it.

IMO, season two was the climax of the show. I liked seasons 3 and 4 (season 5 was not good... because Jennifer Garner was pregnant, they brought in new people, and it just ruined it), but they didn't have the same amount of Sark action, and therefore I was sad.

Oh yay for moving!! (Not yay for internet loss, but I bet it's worth it ;P) You should watch seasons 3 and 4 (I wouldn't watch season 5 unless you're a die hard fan, that's basically the only reason I watched it).
