Amusing story of the day:

Today I was going to go to Chinatown for Chinese New Year (which reminds me! I keep trying to think/say "Happy New Year" in Mandarin, which is relatively simple: 新年快樂, but for some reason all I can think to say is "Fröhliche Weihnachten", which not only is GERMAN, but it means "Merry Christmas"...), but the parade isn't until next weekend, so we didn't go.

Instead my family and I went to the Korean market for dinner. My mother REALLY likes bibimbap, and my dad wanted to try it. I, of course, wasn't hungry (ever since I got sick I'm rarely hungry), so I just walked around and bought some more 2% water (OMG LOVE THAT STUFF SO DAMN MUCH). Since I was with my sister and niece, we went to the gift shop. Last time I was there I thought they had the light blue first edition of Big Bang's mini album "Always" (which is rare, and awesome), but it turns out it was one I already had.

Anyway, while I was looking, the girl was like "this is G-Dragon's album", and I was like "yeah, I already have it". Naturally she was all surprised, and asked me how I knew him (she was adorable, all baffled by how I could possibly know who he was. Cuuuuuute ~^^). I then told her I saw him in concert, and for some reason she thought I meant in the USA, and I was all like "nope, in Korea". She was impressed, I was amused.

Another funny thing: I recently introduced my sister and niece to Big Bang. They both really like Young Bae, and for some reason call him "nice boy". Anyway, the gift shop had mousepads with bands on them, and my niece kept pointing at them, and asking if they were Big Bang. It kinda went like this:

Niece: Is that Big Bang?
Me: No, that's 2PM
Niece: Is THAT Big Bang?
Me: Nope, that's DBSK
Sister: Just because they're boys doesn't mean they're Big Bang!
Me: *snorts and laughs* Not all Asian guys look alike...

Either way, it was fun. I like getting my family slowly into my fascination with Asia. My parents treat my Big Bang obsession like it was normal, which is infinitely awesome. They also took my random devotion to Taiwan and Chinese culture (and subsequent total life turn around) in stride, which is also infinitely awesome. I have really great parents.
