My Girl is awesome

I started watching My Girl tonight, while waiting for Hello My Teacher to download (long story short; My Girl was going to be my next drama, but then dangermousie told me that Hello My Teacher is like a Korean Gokusen, so naturally I flipped, and needed to watch it ASAP. Unfortunately there are no DDLs for it, so I have to do slooow torrents).

ANYWAY, I can't say I love it yet (I'm not even fully through episode 1), but I adore Yu Rin. She's terribly awesome, with the fake fainting, and the scamming, and speaking THREE languages! Plus, she's QUITE ingenious, the whole thing with the oranges... Awesome. I also love Gong Chan, because OMG he's hot. princess_dexter, I am also utterly fascinated by his eyebrows. I find myself staring at them while I should be paying attention to the plot...


They just introduced Jung Woo (he's so beautiful!) in the most hilarious way! He's running from Carlos! And hey, random white people! Oh, speaking of white people, I always love when non-Asian people speak english in dramas, because they enunciate REALLY well, and speak slow and loud (this is an area where a background in stage theater is a terribly good thing to have!). I know WHY they do it, but it still sounds so damn contrived. Hey! a black dude! That's like, the second time I've ever seen a black person in a drama. Yay for diversifying, Korea!

Um, so Yu Rin just said they could sell the oranges for 100 won. Is it just me, or does $0.07 USD seem like a REALLY cheap price for an orange? I don't know much at all about Korea, or their economy. Maybe it's like Taiwan, which has a lower cost of living... I have no clue.

Hah! I caught a continuity error! Golf ball was there one minute, gone, and then back!

Um, is it just me, or does Lee Dong Wook look amazingly hot in this weird scarf/brown velvet jacket combo?! Maybe it's just because he's so amazingly gorgeous, anything is hot on him...Seriously, he's one of the best looking guys I've ever seen in my life. *more mini heart attacks!*


And lastly, I LURVE Yu Rin's boots! This is a crappy screenshot, but it was near impossible to find a shot of the boots where she wasn't moving all around. One boot had the (bear?) face, the other boot has the tail. Adorable! Yes, I am fully aware that I'm obsessed with footwear. (hehe, that rhymed, kinda)



NOW I can say I love it. LOVE it. Lee Dong Wook is wonderfully understated, while Lee Da Hae is wonderfully over the top. Their chemistry so far is lovely, and I can't wait to get into some of the side stories! (Especially the ones where Lee Joon Ki plays squash, and apparently kicks people's asses (according to the preview for episode 2))

When did kdramas start to take over my drama life, I wonder...

Oh, almost forgot, one of the best things, a portion of the first episode was in Mandarin. It was awesome, because I could totally understand some of what they said. Yay Mandarin! I should really spend more time studying my mandarin... I've been lagging quite a bit due to the holiday season.

YAAAAAAAAAY! I'm so glad you're liking it, and personally I think it just gets better and better.

And LDW does look really fetching in that weird outfit - I think it says a lot about his stunning good looks that I didn't mention anything about his clothes in my pimp post for the series. Usually I fixate on the main actors outfits but this time I hardly noticed, I was far too busy swooning over his face. :D

Are you a member of jdramas? They have the entire series of Hello My Teacher on megaupload. It's possible it's called something else in the tags as it is also known as Biscuit Teacher and Star Candy and Hardtack Teacher and Star Candy.

Seeing how much I liked it by the end of the first episode, I have no doubt it'll get better, as you said.

He is stunning! Like, originally from the print ad on the d-addicts wiki, I was kinda meh towards him, but then you did the pimp post, and I was like, "OMG hot"... and then I watched it, and he became EVEN MORE ATTRACTIVE! How is that possible?!
