So Hot Shot is basically totally eyecandy. It's like the producers were like "What's a good idea for a new show... you know what would be great? Let's just put five of the hottest actors in Taiwan in a show about sweaty boys playing sports! That'll work."

Anyway... You've got some pretty hot guys there. And they play basketball. I'm surprised Mike He wasn't in this (Mike He is ALWAYS playing basketball, in like, every drama he's in). He was probably filming Infernal Lover...


So yes. This is quite enjoyable. I've only watched the first episode so far, but it was adorable, and hilarious. They're doing that awesome Taiwanese/Chinese thing where they highly exaggerate movements. If they're fighting/playing basketball/whatever, it's wuxia style with lots of huge jumps, slow motion, and totally impossible movements. At first I found this style kinda ridiculous (I first saw it in another George Hu drama; Love At First Fight), but I like it now. It's uniquely Chinese.

This drama is worth watching for Alan alone. Alan is like, the funniest shit to ever come out of Taiwan ever. The faces he makes are hilarious. Wu Zun and George Hu are awesome as bad guys. The fight/chase scenes are pretty hot too. I haven't seen Michael yet. The girls are lovely too. Especially Coco Jiang, who is statuesque and beautiful beyond belief.

Also, one of the high points of this drama is the commercial insert; they have the basketball teams DANCING. Alan is a fabulous dancer. Jerry and Wu Zun, who have had many many years of practice from being in boybands are pretty damn good too.

The one thing I wasn't happy about; Hot Shot isn't subtitled in Chinese. I feel lost without the Chinese subs.

Interestingly, I guess Alan and Wu Zun became pretty good friends in RL. They joke about dating each other, and I found this set of lovely shots;





In my attempts to find good Wu Zun pictures for this post, I found these.

The first made me go "Awwwwww!"

The second made me go "WOOOOOOOOOOOOW", and proceed to stare at the computer screen for like, 5 minutes slackjawed. Wu Zun, can I have you? PLEASE?!

I also just found out that Na Wei Xun (Fated to Love You, Prince Turns to Frog, etc), Gong Ji An (Hua Yang Shao Nian Shao Nu), and Huang Tai An (Mars, A Game About Love, Fated to Love You) are in it. I love character actors, and seeing them in various dramas makes me happy.

It's been awhile since I've watched a twdrama. I forget just how amazing they are sometimes.

Yeah, I'm totally not into dramas about sports which is why I didn't watch this show for a long time. But ultimately, the hot guys were too alluring to NOT watch!

I've been watching this one and of for the past few months and really enjoying it :) it's basically just an excuse to put a bunch of hot guys onscreen together like you said, and once I realized that, say, oh, 20 seconds in, I started really enjoying it. It's basically straight fluff and fun and very easy to watch. I can't STAND the main girl though, the one they both fall in love with. She's a super flat character and a terrible actress imh, which kinda ruins the love story/romantic tension for me. But watch it and see for yourself.

Secretly, I'm only watching it for Alan luo ;)

I originally wasn't going to watch it because I don't care much at all for sports themed stuff (which I kinda stopped watching Bull Fighting). But the lure of many hot boys was just too strong.

I'm hoping for the following things from this drama; awesome ridiculous Alan faces, brooding Jerry, Wu Zun and George Hu being bad, and Michael Zhang just appearing. I kinda don't care about the plot.

I've only watched the first episode so far, so I don't have much of an opinion of her. As of right now she doesn't matter much. On the other hand, I really like the older coach girl.

Heh! I'm watching it mostly for him and Jerry (I love it when Jerry is angsty)

hahaha nice review there. I only just finished the show a couple of days ago. Thank you so much for the Alan/Wu Zhen kissing picture! They are adorable, even if I don't slash them together. Anyway for me i didn't like the show initially but it really grew on me, the last few episodes were so exciting. And OMG! Michael is so so so hot in this!! I am absolutely in love with him.

As for the girls, I really love W, but I'm not a big fan of Jie Er, though I did wish she played in the final game with the boys.
