Wow. seven_trees, you were right. Shan Wu Shuang has to be the BEST drama heroine I've ever seen. She's so awesome! How can you NOT love a woman who says things like this;

"This is a one-night stand! You've been without love for 6 years, and now you're suddenly at the "one-night stand" stage. You're so awesome." (Talking to herself, btw)

"When I was in elementary school, you were just a small fertilized egg.... A fertilized egg carrying condoms like a grown up."

Uhhh... I never knew the Chinese for Sailor Moon was 美少女 (beautiful young girl)... The character for moon (月) isn't even in there. The subs keep saying sailor moon, but I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be literal (beautiful young girl), not sailor moon. (BTW, you would not believe how excited I was when I could read the Chinese subtitles! I've been practicing my Mandarin more recently!)

I won't spoil you for what happens in later episodes, but she just keeps kicking more and more ass. If she continues on like this, she'll become my favorite drama heroine ever.

Apparently Sailor Moon is called 美少女戰士 in Chinese, which corresponds to the "bishoujo senshi" part of the title.

See, that's why I don't think they meant sailor moon, because the 戰士 wasn't tacked on the end. It JUST said 美少女. So yeah, it makes me wonder about the translater. Obviously they knew enough to recognize that 美少女 could kinda mean Sailor Moon, but it's not in context so it's bizarre.

That's..weird. Unless 美少女 isn't really used in Chinese? Then it could be understood as a short version of the title? Or of course the translator might just be on crack..

Well, I've heard 少女 used... it seems weird that putting the 美 before it would result in it not being used. I'm thinking the subber was on crack. It just doesn't make sense in context.

I'm weirdly happy that I know enough Mandarin (Well, Chinese) to spot stuff like that! Yay me!

I think I figured out why! In a later episode, the girl they were talking about (the young pretty one) dressed up as sailor moon! I still don't think it was meant to be sailor moon to begin with, but the subbed probably got confused because of the later episode.
