uiscerosI've been trying for like, the last half an hour, to figure out who is who in Super Junior. I can identify only one; Shindong, and that's because he's the "fat one". Oh! And now I can identify Siwon, who I think might be my favorite (based on looks alone). But of course he's one of the younger ones (Leeteuk and Heechul are both older than me! Han Geng is only slightly younger).
But man, there's SO MANY of them! I need someone to actually go through a video and point each one out to me!

Date: 2009-05-02 02:48 am (UTC)It's how I was when I got into Morning Musume (at their peak, they had around 13 members; now there's 9, and I know all but the two Chinese girls..). It was so scary at first, and I kept mixing them up, but now (even though I don't actively watch/look at them anymore) it's like "uhh duhh, that one's [name]".
Oddly enough, I don't think I really had trouble with Johnny's groups, except for like..the ones I RARELY saw AND didn't give a crap about.

I can identify their voices too, so like, there was a CF recently released, where one dude was singing, but another dude's voice was coming out. I was all like "it's SO OBVIOUS", but it occurred to me that maybe not everyone gets that...
I always have trouble at first, but if I end up liking them enough, I'll easily learn the people's names.

Exactly! It's easy to learn if you're interested! That makes it hard to become a fan though, I think, cause at the start, you're not AS interested (since you're not a fan YET), but you still want to know who's who. blahhh stupid Asians all looking the same! (<--says a person who can't identify most of NSYNC or the Backstreet Boys)

Exactly! Like, with Big Bang, I started out liking individual members rather than the group. So That was easier. I DON'T KNOW any individual members of SJ, so I can't go that route. (Hehe! I can correctly identify all of NSYNC AND the Backstreet Boys! Go me!)

Date: 2009-05-02 03:20 am (UTC)Big Bang was really easy to tell everyone apart! They are pretty unique looking and sounding. When I first got into DBSK the only one I could always pick out was Hero and his voice too. But after seeing them a bit I was able to tell them all apart and all their voices too.
I guess it's like giving someone a bunch of different apples and have them taste them, then ask them, which apple is which? I bet it will be hard for them to do it. But if you keep eating the same apples over and over each day, you will eventually come to realize the subtle differences in the apples. (I just HAD to relate it to food XD)

Hehe! I also like your analogy! If it were me I'd probably relate to something dorky like Harry Potter or something (I tend to relate everything to Harry Potter for some reason!)

Date: 2009-05-02 04:16 am (UTC)The one thing I like about SJ is the fact that they do have a 'the fat one' guy! (I think he and another guy ended up learning DBSK's mirotic dance as a challenge to DBSK! It was really fun and he danced it really well! If he's the same guy that is XD)
