How did they not solve the UST in the Kurosagi movie?! Why did they waste that chance? WHY?!!!!?! Tsurara telling Kurosaki that he'll never be alone... way to rip my heart out there.

Also, the Gokusen movie comes out really soon (11Jul09 in Japan, so, effectively 10Jul09 here)! I'm dying to see if MatsuJun made an appearance. I think I'll cry if he doesn't. GOKUSEN IS NOT GOKUSEN WITHOUT SAWADA SHIN. Plain and simple.

I've been counting down the days until the Gokusen movie ends because I NEED TO KNOW if there is Shinage. I would seriously be happy with him just appearing at the end with no dialogue and just him and Yankumi smiling at each other. THAT WOULD BE ENOUGH.

...I still have to watch series 2 and 3 though, especially since Kame's series 2 character appears to be the main dude in the movie.

I would be happy with that too, as long as there is SOME mention of Shin. Like, I know they had to alter things from the manga to make it long standing, but the goddamn backbone of the series is Shin and Yankumi's relationship! He has to be in the movie, I'll write angry letters if he isn't!! (Well, no, I won't... they wouldn't understand anyway)

I want to watch season 2 for the delicious manflesh happening in that (Hiro, Kame, Keisuke, and Moco to name a few!!), but I'm not really interested at all in season 3... mostly because I don't know any of them. But yeah, Kame and Jin's characters are the mains for season 2. I see lots and LOTS of slash fic for them.

I haven't even watched past the 1st season because there's no Shin, really I don't see the point. Shin + Yankumi = love. >_>

I feel much the same way. I kinda want to see season 2 because of all the hot guys, but yeah. Without Shin, I don't see much of a point either.

I don't know much about the translations. I know some of it is done, and I know the final special chapter is done (ie. the one where Shin and Yankumi finally make out), but overall the scanlation isn't done.

I hate when stuff like that happens. I've had to give up a lot of manga because of lack of translations. With the more adultish manga it's near impossible to find, or at least I haven't found it!

Yeah, at the same time I know most of the people doing the scans aren't getting paid to do it. I'm thankful...but then they leave you hanging :(

Because Japan likes to make us flail in frustration. unsolved UST is right up there with that weird hug from behind thing that they always do. Its like a contractual thing-- must make viewers frustrated.

Oh fun. Shin Yankumi longing gazes...how I miss them. ....I think i now need good ShinYankumi ficcage.

Ah, hugs from behind... I will never understand that. I guess it's like how a shot of the Taipei 101 is almost always in Taiwanese dramas. They're damn proud of that building...
Well they're definitely succeeding in making me irritated ;P
I mean, I'm usually an non-canonical shipper, so I'm used to stuff like this. Fanfic was always the answer, but unfortunately there is not a lot of drama fic in the world!!

I miss them too! I need so badly for Shin to be in the movie... Ohhhhh fanfic... I periodically check to see if there is anything new. Did you ever read Stumble and Fall? I really like that fic. It's unfinished, but very nearly done!

I think Jdramas have the worst endings out of the bunch. The show is really good, up until the last episode, when you're wondering how it went wrong... Stupid jdramas and their stupid endings.

Oh me too, definitely. I've been reading fanfic for 12 years now (OMG I'm old... and a massive geek), and it's gotten more and more tiresome to find good stuff. I need to start a page of rec or something, because I have so many good ones (I actually DID do a rec page for Harry Potter fic...). As for Atadan fic, anything that calledinvain writes is amazing. I think she has 3 or 4 fics, and they're all really good. I haven't seen anything else comparabile for Atadan fic.

The Kurosagi movie was such a big disappointment :(! Even Yamapi's prettiness couldn't save it, since the script was such a mess. And Horikita Maki barely appeared in it :P.

I completely agree with you on Gokusen. I've Gokusen 2 in addition to the first series, and though I love the character of Yankumi, it just wasn't the same without Sawada Shin. I hope there is even some kind of a reference to Shin in the movie, because otherwise it just won't be real Gokusen.

My friend and I, we watched the bootlegged version of it together, ala Mystery Science Theater 3000, because that's how we roll and survive terrible things, because we have snark (and each other.)

and oh my god. Like, I didn't rant enough about how AWFUL the movie was in that other comment, but just thinking about it now is making me annoyed all over again, seriously, it is like the biggest retcon fuck you to any fans who watched the drama and got caught up in the UST/romance angle. Kurosaki barely acknowledges Tsurara in it in any way, it's as if SHE NEVER RAN AFTER HIS STUPID FACE IN A SQUAD CAR, IN THE RAIN, NOTHING.

And there was this door scene, with a neck twist, that had D and I straight up SEETHING with rage, because it was in that moment, Kurosaki BROKE UP WITH US.

and we were going, OMG NO HE DIDN'T, and TSURARA! OH MY GOD, STOP LOVING HIM, HE IS AN ASSHOLE.

It was basically a vehicle for Yamapi, which is to be expected, but it was a BAD MOVIE.

I just edited out a few 'like' because I don't actually sound like a Valley girl even though I do live in Southern California.

My friend likes to pretend that the movie never EXISTED, because otherwise to speak of the neck twist, is to incite terrible, terrible scorn.

I was more frustrated with another thing in the movie
(pretty shocking considering i was watching it for the OTP)

But in the drama and in the movie....u know that whole storyline with Kurosagi's revenge and his horrible manpain and swindlers who ruined his family....?


So in the movie, he chases after the guy who he thinks is responsible for everything....and GUESS WHAT HAPPENS? JUST GUESS.
