Better than Ezra - Good
Mid 90's post-grunge alternative rock at it's best. BTE is one of my favorite bands (they're one of the only bands I've seen in concert - that's an interesting story, involving driving to Roanoke in the rain and getting locked out of my car), and while this isn't my favorite song of theirs, it's probably the best known.
Silverchair - The Greatest View
Silverchair's my favorite band (tied with BB), and they can do NO WRONG. I occasionally become unhealthily obsessed with Daniel Johns (MARRY ME DANIEL!!!), because his voice is like a fucking drug to me. This song is off Diorama (done during Daniel's colorful/epic period), and while it's not nearly my favorite song off not nearly my favorite album, it's still epic and gorgeous. Like I said, no wrong.
Coolio - Gangster's Paradise
You honestly can't tell me that you don't love this song. Coolio was THE SHIT in 95/96. Dangerous Minds was super cool around this time, so there's that influence too. But anyway, I still listen to this song a lot. Because it's awesome.
Se7en - Girls
Say what you like about Se7en's American debut, I love it. It's so ridiculous ("Like Will I'm Legend, feel me, you can google me, baby, been around the world, Asia to Philly" - Philly? REALLY?!) and awesome. Plus, I mean, Lil' Kim's there!
JVKV - 體驗 (Goodbye)
(JVKV = F4. Just at the time this was released, they had changed their name to avoid conflict because the Japanese version of HYD was being produced)
Okay, so I'm kinda breaking the rules on this one (the title is originally in Chinese), but whatever. I LOVE this song. I'm not the hugest fan of JVKV. They don't make songs that are the type of music I prefer (they do mostly ballads - not my style), but this song, which was released for Zai Zai/Ken's drama, is lovely. Plus, fat!Ken is in it!

G-Dragon - Gossip Man
This is my favorite song (well, tied with "She's Gone") off "Shine a Light". I like that GD is at least partially aware of Gossip Girl. for some reason that makes me ridiculously happy. Because, come on, can't you just imagine the boy chillin at night, watching Gossip Girl... GD getting style inspiration from Chuck... It's perfect in my mind.

Date: 2010-09-17 03:53 pm (UTC)Coolio was AWESOME back then. Everyone thought he was totally cool and gangsta. In my 6th grade music class we had to write songs about how drugs are bad - one group of kids did it to the tune of "Gangster's Paradise". It was awesome.
