Sorry if I haven't replied to comments in the last 2-ish weeks. [livejournal.com profile] sn0tcat was at my house, and we were having all sorts of fall-induced adventures (including FOLIAGE WATCHING).

Aside from that things have been slow in drama/movie/stuff land. I'm still watching Mischievous Kiss (though without subs...). I like it alot. It's suitably low key and slice of life-esque for me. I still enjoy the Taiwanese version more though. But there are a lot of contributing factors to that opinion - mostly that ISWAK was my first Taiwanese drama and the start point of my Taiwan obsession.

[livejournal.com profile] sn0tcat and I watched the Korean horror movie Thirst the other day. Uhhhh... Korea... *sigh* It's not really horror. It's kinda gross, but not really horror-ey. And I just ended up hating the characters. Like, the female character - at first you feel bad for her, but at the end you realize she's fucking crazy, and deserves what she gets. And while there was a ghost, he was weirdly happy and non-threatening. CONSIDERING HE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE HAUNTING PEOPLE. As for the priest himself - I don't get him. He started righteous, but he lost that righteousness super fast. He was a BAD priest. Bad, bad, bad. Anyway, I think I'm going to give up watching Korean horror movies. They never make sense. They jump around so much it's insane. Even non-horror kmovies are a bit skippy. Why, Korea, why?! As [livejournal.com profile] sn0tcat said, we watched it for the nudity. It was the first mainstream Korean movie to feature full frontal male nudity. It wasn't even that good.

We did get to see Easy A though, which was delightful. And we "almost" got hit by a train, so that was fun (we were on some train tracks, making inappropriate Fried Green Tomatoes jokes, and suddenly there was a train coming). There were also PLENTIFUL boner jokes, the speaking of Chinese, and nostalgia over our classmates from Taiwan (particularly a Japanese guy, Chun Yi, who had a spectacular ass).

Hey, [livejournal.com profile] sn0tcat! I don't want to be without you (in a non-gay way)!
(^^^^ It's an inside joke. Don't worry, I'm fully supportive of LGBT rights)

How the hell did I miss that Japan is remaking Ghost?! With Song Seung Hun playing Swayze's part, and Matsushima Nanako playing Moore's part.

Uhh... I don't even know what to think about this. Since a ton of American films are Japanese remakes, it's only right they they remake some of our movies. But at the same time, Ghost?! (Oddly enough, Ghost is actually one of the first movies I ever remember seeing. It came out when I was 6, and was rated PG-13, so there's no way I saw it in theaters... And so the mystery of how it's one of my earliest movie memories continues)

I like Song Seung Hun. He's really hot, which helps. I'm kinda of confused why he's in a Japanese movie (since he's Korean), but whatever.
As for Matsushima Nanako, I've only seen her in Hana Yori Dango (as Tsubaki), and I liked her there. On the other hand, she's married to Sorimachi Takashi, so I also naturally kind of hate her (OMG I LOVE YOU TAKASHI!)...

Anyway, it'll be fun, if only to see who they cast in Whoopie's role.

I just watched 17 Again, because it's rainy and cold here, and I needed to watch something fun.

First off, it appears my older woman / younger man kink is not only applicable to dramas. Because HOLY SHIT I ate that shit up in this movie.

Second, I think I might be a tad fangirly over Zac Efron now (boy is hooooooot). I never was before. Kinda like how I didn't understand why James McAvoy was so popular until I saw him in Becoming Jane. After that, well, lets just say I get it. Incidentally I thought Zac Efron was a lot younger, so to find out he's only 4 years younger than me, well that's nice. (Woah, he was on Summerland?! I LOVED that show for a season...)

And now I totally have to work on my pimp post. There's only four days left!

I want to see EVERY SINGLE MOVIE ON THIS LIST!

I always get so excited about upcoming movie, but end up watching none (I'm cheeeeeeeeap), but I really hope to see at least half of these this year. I'm especially excited about Shutter Island (ANYTHING based on a Dennis Lehane book is golden), and The Invention of Lying as both were filmed in Massachusetts. I have a lot of state pride.

I also REALLY want to see Extract (OMG Jason Bateman AND Ben Affleck (who I still have a lot of love for)), Avatar (which is going to blow my mind... I'm not going to lie, I adore James Cameron), Inglourious Basterds (Who am I kidding, I'm going for the eyecandy... Brad Pitt and Eli Roth... mmmmmmmmm yes), and Where the Wild Things Are (because obviously it's awesome). I also did my best impression of Stephen Colbert when I saw the Ninja Assassin trailer.

Course that being said, I want to see ALL OF THEM.

The thing is, I'll be in Taiwan at the time, and I have no idea how fast American movies get shipped to Taiwan. Probably not very fast, which makes me sad... Then again, they ARE playing Harry Potter there now, so maybe at least the big movies will be there...

Drama / Asian pop culture news!

Ending spoilers for My Queen )

Big Bang Appointed Ambassadors for Ministry of Justice - Congrats to Big Bang!! I posted this because TOP always looks so confused in these group shots. Not digging Ji Yong's hair here... it would look SO HOT if he got rid of the headband. And I mean, I liked the headband when he was hanging out with w-inds... I guess my like for it is transient.

Arron Yan and Calvin Chen breakthrough, idol drama with both as male lead - A new romantice drama starring Calvin and Aaron?! Sign me up!

Also, Daniel Henney's new American tv show has been picked up for the upcoming season! It's not really my type of show (medical drama), but I will watch some of it for two simple reasons; DANIEL HENNEY IS HOT, and Julia Ormond is in it! I LOVE Julia Ormand a ton, and have since I first saw her in the 1995 remake of Sabrina. Both the 1995 version of Sabrina and Legends of the Fall (where Julia Ormond had the best role in the world... she got to be the romantic interest of; Henry Thomas, Brad Pitt (!!!), and Aidan Quinn) are in my top 10 favorite movies EVER.

Today I did pretty much nothing.

God. I've gotten so boring. It's not like I was ever an example of exciting behavior, but at least I used to have more to say :D

Seriously, all I did today was get my car fixed (thankfully it was only the brake lines, so not a huge fix), went to walmart to buy bobby pins, and came home to watch Benjamin Button (OMG that movie... loved it, but so sad... Also, Brad Pitt. Oh yes, Brad Pitt...)

And here it is, not even 10pm, and I think that after I exercise, I'm going to go to sleep. I blame my fatigue and restlessness on work! Stupid work... interfering with my drama watching ;P I think I need this break though. It's nice to relax, and not worry about what to watch next. Plus, American tv season finales are this week, so I'm too busy worrying about those!

How do I not have a "Brad Pitt" tag?! (Haven't fangirled him in awhile, but I've been mildly obsessed with him since 1995... along with, like, 85% of the female population) I don't have a Johnny Depp tag either (much of 2006 and 2007 were devoted to fangirling him and PotC intensely)...
