I've been in Taipei for four days now. I love it. I was stupid to worry about it, honestly. It's comfortable here. Taipei and I are old friends. It's almost like I never left.

The bad part is I'm still sick. About every other day my body's like "HEY! Guess what! You're getting better!", and I feel great. And then I wake up the next morning feeling like shit. Stop being an asshole, body.

Yesterday in Taipei! )

Anyway, have some pictures I took here!

Flowers are blooming at Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall / Liberty Square park, the prettiest place in Taipei proper.

On a separate, random note - I started watching Secret Garden. I'm halfway through with it, and while I like and enjoy it, I am also baffled at how they're going to sustain it for another 10 episodes. I am also desperately obsessed with Director Jong Soo. I love him so so much. Also, it is really reminding me a lot of Bali, which is probably mostly because of Ha Ji Won, but also because Joo Won reminds me of a less crazy version of Jae Min. Kdramas make me hate rich people SO MUCH.

I was watching a preview for a mainland Chinese drama, and during the credits when listing actors, it rather amusingly put "台灣" (Taiwan) in parenthesis next to the Taiwanese actor's names. I love being able to read some Chinese. It makes watching twdramas so much more fun. I find that I pick up on a lot more meaning by being able to read the Chinese subs (I can read Chinese better than I can hear and understand it).

I randomly watched 100 Days with Mr. Arrogant earlier. I didn't know Ha Ji Won was in it, and so when it first came on, I was all like "hmmm... she looks familiar". On the other hand I recognized Kim Jae Won right away.

Anyways, the movie was FLUFFY. The plot was so improbable it was almost probable. I tend to have a problem with kmovies, in that a lot of times I find the plots too abrupt. Not a lot is explained at the beginning, and they just jump right in. I've seen this in both horror movies and romantic comedies, which makes me wonder if it's a Korean thing (possibly an Asian thing, since I've seen at least 2 jmovies that were similarly abrupt). Either way, this movie isn't winning any awards. But that's not to say I didn't enjoy it. It's entertainment, and I'm fine as long as there's even the slightest redeeming quality. And this did have some very good qualities. It was very cute, the chemistry between Ha Ji Won and Kim Jae Won was great, and although Ha Ji Won's character was typically dumb, she was also pretty awesome.

So, have some caps that are funnier/cuter/better when left unexplained!
(Also I'm tired, and don't feel like explaining ;P )

Oh God... I thought I was going to be fine with Bali. I know how it ends, I prepared myself.

I'm not going to be fine. This show is going to destroy my soul. I am so deep into the dysfunction it's not even funny. And the worst is yet to come, because Jae Min and Soo Jung aren't even together yet! I almost want to sob my heart out over it.

And Jae Min... Oh, I love him so much. I love how he's a complete dork, and can't seem to be able to express his emotions in a productive manner. But I love how nervous he gets whenever he's about to see Soo Jung. I love how he gets these adorable secret smiles when things are going his way. I love that he flips out and is a total ass whenever he gets jealous. I just love HIM.

Like I said, I'm a goner.

I am never more of a fangirl than I am when it comes to GD. I seriously fawn all over him (believe me, ask [livejournal.com profile] sn0tcat... she was present when I watched the "Heartbreaker" video for the first time, and I swear I kinda drooled), it's a bit embarrassing. Just a bit.

Anyway, today on Inkigayo he performed his first solo stage(s), and they were AMAZING. The bit with the apple in "Heartbreaker" was amazing, and just... yeah. Wow. That boy is perfect.

I should probably cut this, shouldn't I? CLICK HERE FOR GD's AMAZING PERFORMANCE )

I desperately wish Taiwan was more into the Kpop scene. The only groups I've seen on MTV or in the store are Super Junior, SS501, and SNSD. I've seen Big Bang stuff, but ONLY their recent Japanese releases. At one of the music stores I visited they had a HUGE selection of western (AMERICAN) music, a relatively small section of Mandopop, and a tiny section of "Other Asian" which was 99.9% Japanese. *sigh*

I cleaned my room today, so I might at least post pictures of that. BUT we want to clean the place before we take pictures of the rest because while it's not BAD, it's still not clean. We plan on getting cleaning stuff tomorrow.

ALSO! Still watching Bali, which I am desperately in love with. Or rather, I am in love with Jae Min. He's so ridiculous and dorky, but at the same time intense and intimidating. I can't wait for Soo Jung to fall for him. I like In Wook a lot better too, now that he has emotions! Still adore Soo Jung, still hate Young Joo...

Eh, so much to say! I'm splitting it up!

What we've been doing in Taiwan for the last few days + pictures )

I HAVE been watching things while here. I watched the most recent Buzzer Beat (ep 6), and I finally started Meteor Shower (OMG I LOVE IT, but it's so weird). I ALSO randomly started What Happened in Bali.

Buzzer Beat episode 6 caps )

Meteor Shower episode 1 caps )

What Happened in Bali episode 1 caps )

Eh, that took forever...
