Nothing much has been going on... Work is DRAINING me. It's weird, I have more days free (since I work four 10-hour shifts), but it seems like a lot less time, for some reason. I never have time for anything.

That being said, there are a few things to talk about, so... Bulleted Update!

- We had a barbecue at work yesterday. It was fun, and there was SO MUCH FOOD. I baked a huge ass cake, and it was delicious. Everyone was impressed that I had baked it from scratch. Which is odd, because it's not like it's particularly hard. But whatevs.

- I tend to develop obsessions with THINGS. I'm a collector, and right now I'm collecting makeup. I've always collected the stuff, but now it's getting kinda ridiculous. Especially stila stuff. And last night I randomly found some Orly FX polishes (which aren't supposed to be released yet). Excitement!

- I might start doing a few swatches of my new stuff here. Just because. I've recently been enamoured with makeup blogs. Partially because I'm being vicarious. Partially because I wish I was one - they get SO MUCH free makeup. I want free makeup...

- I'm trying to decide whether to go to the Chuseok Festival in New York this October. Lee Hyori's going to be there, and I do love her. On the other hand, blaaaah. Driving there is a pain. I guess I could take a bus... And one of my friends lives there, so it wouldn't be too bad.

- On Big Bang; I'm planning a meta post for "Beautiful Hangover", because that video is pretty ridiculous/awesome. I like the song a lot more with the video attached. YB's international album is GOOOOOD. I like it so so so much better than the original SOLAR. Patiently awaiting their new album...

- I have ridiculous amounts of albums to buy. Six, at last count. And the Big Show 2010 DVD (while not terribly necessary since I was at the concert, it would be nice, considering all I can remember from it is Baby being hot(?!), and TOP on a wire above my head). The annoying part is, I'm actually trying to wait until a few are released (2NE1's album, and Fahrenheit's - both in September).

- No drama-watching, as of yet. I'm incomprehensibly busy. And I just haven't been feeling anything.

*sigh* Back to work...

Recently my time has been taken up with a variety of oddities. So, um, bullets!

- Twitter. Who knows if I'll keep with it, but I'm totally rocking it right now. I hate the character limit though. I'm naturally long winded, people! (BTW, if you are following me, but I'm not following you, it's because I didn't know who you were, so, uh, let me know)

- My Shine a Light DVD (and Lee Hyori's album) came today! I haven't watched it yet though.

- Last night's episode of Glee made me happy. It was a bit overdone, and didn't last long, but I liked Mercedes trying to fit in, and then deciding to be herself. As someone who also starved themselves in high school to try to fit in (except instead of being a cheerleader, I was an actress), I empathized. But seriously, has anyone EVER had hallucinations of people turning into food when they're hungry? Because I sure as hell haven't.

- Speaking of hungry, OMG SO MUCH. My diet is so boring, what with soy dogs, rice crackers (I LOVE CRACKERS. YOU WILL NEVER TAKE THEM AWAY FROM ME, DIET), beans, yogurt, and piles of seaweed (me and my seaweed... I eat so much of it), I'm pretty monochromatic. I did eat some vegetable sushi today though. That was nice.

- I've been playing a LOT of early 90's DOS computer games. My family had a computer really early in the game (not like, 1970's early, but before personal computers were popular with the masses), and my dad loved Apogee games. I used to play them all the time when I was a kid. Recently I downloaded a bunch, and have had to figure out how to use DOS again.

- Today, I also discovered that I could download video game emulators. I've been playing old SNES games (I totally still have my actual consoles for Atari, NES, SNES, and Nintendo 64 somewhere).

- I was looking up American idioms, and was amused by this one; "As mad as a wrongly shot hog"... I pigs ARE pretty angry when you shoot them. You really want to stay away when that heppens. My great-great-great-great-great grandmother was totally killed by pig (well, a boar, but you get my drift). Apparently they had wild boars in Texas.

- I love how in episode 9 of Personal Preference, Gae In's looking through Jin Ho's drawers, and he totally has a straightening iron. Now, I have nothing against metrosexuals, but that amuses the hell out of me. If you ask any man in my family if they use a straightening iron, every single one of them would not only say no, but probably not know what a straightening iron was. As sad as it is to my ettiquette, I was raised around a motley assortment of beer swilling manly men (sports, cars, the whole deal), and men who are geeks (computers, games, star trek).

I'm going to make an appointment tomorrow to get my hair done again. I'm going to get it more blonde. I like the change. I've had medium/dark hair all my life, I want that change, damn it!

I also went today to buy some better fabric for the Big Bang craft project extravaganza. I'm currently working on a prototype. It's about half done. While I was there, they were having a sale on Chinese brocade. I love fabric (I'm tactile, I like feeling things), so I was powerless against the prettiness. It's black, with blood red flowers (my two favorite colors). I'll find something to do with it...

Does this happen to you -> You hear two different versions of a song (whether they're remakes, parody songs, whatever), and end up knowing the new version far better than the original? (I don't mean you like the new version, but are unfamiliar with the old version. I mean you're a fan of both songs, but the newer one sticks out more to you)

This happens to me a lot... )

There's others, but I can't remember them right now...

Speaking of singing stuff in the car like a crazy person, my favorite song as of late to sing in the car is Nese's "Superman". It's so much fun to rap in Mandarin...
Now understand, this is not a case of me harmlessly singing while driving. Two very important things to know about me are: I drive really fast, and I'm a really aggressive driver. I also listen to music really loudly. So picture this~ I'm driving down the highway, going wicked fast, windows open, music blasting, possibly having to maneuver between slow drivers, and I'm like, car-dancing. I've got hand motions. I'm also really belting out the lyrics... It's a sight.

However, the ultimate car sing along song is undoubtedly R. Kelly's "Ignition". In college, when it had just come out, whenever it came on when my friend Jess and I were driving, she made me beep the horn when he says "beep beep"... Luckily I went to college in rural Virginia, so there weren't that many people on the road. Especially at midnight, which is usually when were driving to Sheetz. Fun fact: this song made an appearance in my backpacking trip to Europe. I distinctly remember Lisa and I singing it on the bus in Florence Italy...

ALSO! I was rereading some fanfic, and I don't know what it is about this line, but every single time I read it (and I've reread this fic many many times) I melt in a pile of goo, because OMG SO HOT.
"Good. You must understand how utterly foolish it was to come here, believing that you would leave again having shared my bed with me none the wiser. Every inch of your body, Lizzy – your hair, your eyes, your face, your lips, everything beneath – everything you have and that you are, is branded on me just like that. Savvy? Branded on my hands, my mind, my skin, my mouth. And smart as you are, you honestly thought that I couldn’t tell the difference. Me. The man who taught you the meaning of pleasure. The man who made you a woman.

I just woke up from a nap (jetlag), during which I had quite the epic dream(s).

In them, Jang Geun Seok was hitting on me (I like him well enough, but I'm not a big fan), TOP gave me a cookie (at, I believe, a BB concert... the management were like "NOOOOOOO!", but he gave it to me anyway! I was happy), and then it ended with some evil dopplegangers.

Yeah.

And now to go eat my salad, and watch LOST (I haven't gotten the chance to up until now because of exhaustion) and HIMYM.

ETA: Random LOST liveblog that is in no way spoilery:
Way to creep me the hell out, LOST. NOTHING is more scary to me than randomly going underwater in the ocean. Like, I have trouble watching "Finding Nemo", and I can't play parts of Mario 64 because they take places underwater.
