This is long, and about makeup, so skip if you would like ;P )

Also, a disclaimer. (This is not because of anyone else, it's because of me.)
Regarding Japan - I sort of feel shitty posting about other stuff when there was such a great tragedy. But at the same time, it's better to think about happier things. I found out around 2 hours after the earthquake. It was around 3:30pm Taiwan time. I heard that there had been a horrible tsunami, and that it was probably going to hit Taiwan around 5:30pm. So for two hours I was scared. I've never been in that situation before, and I didn't know what to make of it (we don't get natural disasters where I live - the worst we get are the occasional blizzard, but that's it). Plus, I was just SAD. All the pictures and videos coming in from Japan were heartbreaking. I watched the news for HOURS, trying to find out if Taiwan was going to be hit, and then how bad it was hit. I wasn't scared for me, really. I was scared for Taiwan. I love Taiwan. So so so much. I didn't want to see a disaster happen here too. Luckily Taiwan was spared. Unfortunately Japan wasn't. So yes, I am posting about silly stuff, but after being in a state of sadness and anxiety for quite a long time I'm cool with being silly.

I've been reading a lot of makeup/fashion blogs recently, and tend to love when bloggers open up up their purse or makeup bag. I love seeing what people carry around, or what they use everyday.

I figured that was something easy I could do - I live for makeup. Since I have way too much makeup for the average individual, I just went with the products I'd use for a single day's look (with a few extras).

(It seems like a lot, yes. And true, while I don't always use all the products - particularly the blush - this is about average for me)

Clearly I am going through an existential crisis. Mainly in the form of what the hell is my life.

Rambling about how I need to throw shit away )

Yeah, this entry was all pointless.

Not pointless -> I managed to grab some stuff from the new MAC collection Venomous Villains. I bought Bad Fairy nail polish (which I was lucky to get, it's sold out nearly everywhere), De-vil eyeshadow, Toxic Tale lipstick (To die for - a practically neon coral color. PERFECT for me), She Who Dares Mineralize Eyeshadow, Resort Life Lip Gelee, and French Quarter Greasepaint Stick (On the right - it's kinda black/green/brown. Really pretty). I got one each from the Cruella and Evil Queen lines, and two each from the Facilier and Maleficent lines. I'm thinking of getting the second mineralize eyeshadow, one of the magically cool powders, and possibly another lipstick/gloss.

I've recently come to utterly adore MAC. I have an obsession with their pigments. Especially museum bronze which is my new best friend. I love all my new makeup. Wearing it makes me happy :D

Nothing much has been going on... Work is DRAINING me. It's weird, I have more days free (since I work four 10-hour shifts), but it seems like a lot less time, for some reason. I never have time for anything.

That being said, there are a few things to talk about, so... Bulleted Update!

- We had a barbecue at work yesterday. It was fun, and there was SO MUCH FOOD. I baked a huge ass cake, and it was delicious. Everyone was impressed that I had baked it from scratch. Which is odd, because it's not like it's particularly hard. But whatevs.

- I tend to develop obsessions with THINGS. I'm a collector, and right now I'm collecting makeup. I've always collected the stuff, but now it's getting kinda ridiculous. Especially stila stuff. And last night I randomly found some Orly FX polishes (which aren't supposed to be released yet). Excitement!

- I might start doing a few swatches of my new stuff here. Just because. I've recently been enamoured with makeup blogs. Partially because I'm being vicarious. Partially because I wish I was one - they get SO MUCH free makeup. I want free makeup...

- I'm trying to decide whether to go to the Chuseok Festival in New York this October. Lee Hyori's going to be there, and I do love her. On the other hand, blaaaah. Driving there is a pain. I guess I could take a bus... And one of my friends lives there, so it wouldn't be too bad.

- On Big Bang; I'm planning a meta post for "Beautiful Hangover", because that video is pretty ridiculous/awesome. I like the song a lot more with the video attached. YB's international album is GOOOOOD. I like it so so so much better than the original SOLAR. Patiently awaiting their new album...

- I have ridiculous amounts of albums to buy. Six, at last count. And the Big Show 2010 DVD (while not terribly necessary since I was at the concert, it would be nice, considering all I can remember from it is Baby being hot(?!), and TOP on a wire above my head). The annoying part is, I'm actually trying to wait until a few are released (2NE1's album, and Fahrenheit's - both in September).

- No drama-watching, as of yet. I'm incomprehensibly busy. And I just haven't been feeling anything.

*sigh* Back to work...

This is a random post!

I have a lot of makeup. Seriously, a lot (BUCKETS full). But to be honest, most of the time I wear the same makeup over and over. Usually that involves mineral foundation, eyebrow powder, and eyeliner/shadow. Sometimes I switch it up, but yeah.

So this post is basically the things I LOVE and cannot live without (at this time).

stila Convertible Eye Color in "Forest"
This is the product that inspired this post. I LOVE THIS EYELINER/SHADOW COMBO SO MUCH. I got mine on sale at Marshalls for a pittance. I later found out that mine was a fluke - Sephora didn't sell it, and stila's website didn't list the color. Only the other day, when I looked again, did I notice stila now has it on their website. Excitement! This is a dark, hunter green liner that smudges perfectly, with a shimmery cream colored loose shadow attached. It's amazing.

Lipstick, and blush, and mascara, oh my! )

My recent thing is nail art. Which means I've been buying lots of nail polishes... I've added 16 new ones. I honestly don't understand why I'm so into this all of a sudden, but here I am.

Today I went searching for O.P.I creme polish. I tend to buy glitter/shimmery polish, so I had to curtail my natural instincts. It worked. I walked away with 8 bottles of polish, and all of them cremes.

And because I like to randomly show pictures of things I buy;

Polish! )

I half want to do all my nails different colors, for I fear it will take awhile before I get to use all of them!

One more 2NE1 "Try to Copy Me" eyeshadow look, and one freestyle!

This one is for Dara's really pretty multi-colored eyeshadow look she has here:

(Sorry in advance for the shitty pictures. It's night here, and I don't have the best lighting in my bedroom)
Eyeshadow look, modified for me! )

Freestyle eyeshadow look )

In other news, I'm trying to teach myself to dance via youtube videos. It's not going well. I'm not coordinated. Seriously, they tell me to go one way, I go the other way. And my reflexes are so bad it hurts. And I'm all stiff. It's unpleasant.

Oddly enough I CAN ballroom dance, and I'm pretty okay at it too. And I used to be able to swing dance (I've forgotten over the years). So why in the hell am I having such a hard time with this?! *cries* I feel like Baby in the beginning of Dirty Dancing. Except without Patrick Swayze.

I went to Boston today to find the Adidas store, and goddamn thing is gone. Like, they're turning the building into a bank. Would have been nice if they'd updated their website so I would have known, and not driven an hour and a half (and gotten lost) for no reason. The next closest store is in NYC... four hours away.

On the plus side, I went to Lush, and replenished my stash of Flying Fox shower gel (undoubtedly the best smelling stuff in the world... Jasmine to the nth degree). I do think it's made differently here, because my bottle from Taiwan has a totally different consistency. We'll see how I like it (btw, Lush is EVERYWHERE in Taiwan... weird). I also bought Retread conditioner, which the saleslady recommended for my hair. My hair is an enigma, it's dry and fine (which makes it hard to find a conditioner, because heavy duty ones usually weight my hair down). I've been using an AWESOME conditioner I bought in Taiwan, but it's almost gone. Seriously, that stuff is amazing. Apparently my hair likes products made for Asian hair (I think it's because my hair is a lot finer than typical Caucasian hair).

IN OTHER NEWS...
I'm thinking of doing more 2NE1 eyelooks. I've been looking over the videos, and a lot of them look do-able. Since I can't afford/find a lot of the fashions they wear, makeup is the next best thing :D

Also, I'm pretty sure I found the silver accent lashes CL is wearing in the "Try to Copy Me" video. You know, these ones:

DETAILS! )

I wish I were a Kpop star just so I could wear some of the awesome makeup looks they rock IRL. I would wear these every single day if I could.

I did one more "Try to Copy Me"-inspired eye look.

Makeup pictures! )

Second, I got my GD Shine a Light photobook today! The book is huge! Like, a lot thicker than the "Bye 2009, Hello 2010" photobook. The pictures are gorgeous, but I wish it was in English (I know that's a stupid wish, but usually in BB photobooks they have the text in English, for some reason). The GD poster is beautiful, and the small BB poster I ordered in similarly gorgeous.

Okay, I tried a few eyemakeup imitations from the "Try to Copy Me" MV.

The basics were simple, it was just getting to fit my eye that was hard. My eyes are round, deep set, and heavily double lidded. Basically as non-Asian as you can get. Incidentally this means that I cannot possibly make the makeup look exactly the same as it does on the 2NE1 girls. So I altered it for my eyes. (They look better in person, since the light sucks here... it IS 4am...)

I also didn't have nearly the same amount of false eyelashes that they used, so I compromised.

Two looks )

MAKEUP SALE!

Too Faced, one of my favorite brands, is having a HUGE sale. I'd reccomend The Jewelry Box kit, which I have and love (well, I have the Diamond edition, this one is the Pink Diamond edition). The damn thing has everything; blush, bronzer, face powder, eyeliner, brow powder, 8 eyeshadow, highlighter, 6 lipglosses, and brushes.

I'm afraid I'm going to purchase a lot. And I have NOWHERE TO PUT IT. Because, as you'll recall, I have more makeup that I know what to do with....

That's most (not all) of my designer makeup, which is probably about 1/6th of my total collection (not including nail polish, perfumes, or skin care products). I think I need an intervention...

But in the meantime, TOO FACED IS HAVING A SALE!

And speaking of makeup; God how much do I want this Tarte set. And I want this bag...
