I just started reading a book, and as is custom for me, I read the first chapter, and then skipped to the end to see how things turn out (I do this with 90% of the books I read, I like to know the general conclusion prior to getting deep into the plot).

Well, I found out that at the end an pet is killed. I don't think I can read this book anymore, guys. I have such a strong reaction to animals dying in books/movies/tv/etc. Like, I bought "I Am Legend" awhile back, found out afterward that the dog died, and couldn't bear to watch it.

In fact, you know how I almost never cry during movies/tv shows (and yet I cry during advertisements...)? Well, when I was in middle school, we watched "Old Yeller" in class. I cried so hard. IN CLASS. And I swear I've never been the same after I read "Where the Red Fern Grows". I just can't handle stuff like that.

So the book... up in the air about it.

Truth be told, I've been kind of out of the fandom game for the past few weeks. Long depressing story that I won't bother with. Incidentally I haven't been paying attention to anything really. Even BB stuff has been pushed aside for more pressing RL matters (*gasp*). Shit happens, you know?

That being said, I was just instantly rocketed back into it. They released the MV for "Tell Me Goodbye" (which I hadn't even listened to prior to seeing the MV. I'm serious when I say I've been out of it).

I. Love. It. So. Much.
It's like, everything amazing packing into one. It's film noir. It's 1940's. It's muted colors, angsting, singing in the rain, detective agencies, and old fashion machine guns. And it features fashion I can wholeheartedly get behind (I do love haute couture, but give me a man in a clean simple suit over anything ever any day). They're even wearing gloves. GLOVES! I have a thing with gloves. They're even chilling in a graveyard. Does it surprise anyone that I also like hanging out in graveyards? (What? It's quiet.) The whole thing reminded me of The Maltese Falcon.

I analyze it more, and freak out )

I think the most important point of my spazzing is; the video is set in the 1940's, and I so desperately wished I lived back then. I was very much born in the wrong period in time guys.

The last shot in the MV reminds me of a picture I took in Ireland. It's one of my favorite pictures I've ever taken.

Random other news -> I'll probably contact people about the Package Exchange early this week. I still have to hear back from a few of you, so I'm going to do it via email.

I also finished "Poison Study" by Maria Snyder, which was suggested to me by [livejournal.com profile] seven_trees and [livejournal.com profile] vierran45 ages ago, but I just got around to. I finished it in a day (when I like a book, I soar through it, neglecting everything else in the world). And now I'm desperate for the second book. I'm going to look for it online, as I don't think I can wait until I get to the bookstore next.

I forgot to mention!!!

On the plane ride I read a book: Graceling, which has been on my bookshelf for awhile thanks to the recommendations of [livejournal.com profile] seven_trees, and [livejournal.com profile] vierran45. I must say, I liked it a lot. I love YA fantasy (adult fantasy is too... odd for me), and this just really hit the nail on the head. It reminded me of Sherwood Smith's books, particularly the Wren books.

I'd like to buy Fire and read it, but since I'm in Korea, I'll have to settle for the ebook. Unless I can somehow find a copy of it here. I'd prefer a real book, since I want to read on the plane back.

Anyway, off to buy Big Bang concert goods. See ya~

Also, the time zone change? Took it like a pro. Absolutely NO jet lag, which is awesome. I went to sleep around 10pm, woke up a little before 7am, and it's great.

Two thirds of the way through the book after a marathon reading session last night. I don't read as much as I used to (blame dramas), but when I do it's totally hardcore. Book are totally my second favoritest thing ever on the planet (after animals).

Rambly stuff )

I'm super excited for the album! Jolin looks amazing (but really, when does she not?), and the music is great. I am totally and completely in love with her new single, "Real Man". You can download the video care of [livejournal.com profile] isabonita, or download the song from Asian Pop Attack (the link is in the second comment).

Also; one of the common Gokusen fanfic plots I hate with a burning passion: Girl suddenly transfers to Shirokin! A girl in an all boys school! The HORROR. Like that would EVER happen in real life (though it does randomly remind me of the last episode of Clarissa Explains It All, when Sam was accepted to an all girl's school that decided to go co-ed... That was a great show, I should download it sometime... I miss the 90's). And yes, I'm still geeking out over Gokusen fanfic. I think I've read most (if not all) the good shinkumi fanfic out there. I need MORE.

Still reading. Will get to comments are some point, but OMG book!

Also didn't watch BBF 23, despite my excitement for it. Seriously, BOOK!

With the advent of a book I've been waiting a year for (oh the waiting!), I got thinking about the Harry Potter fandom, and fandoms in general.

FANDOM! )

In closing, thank you people of the drama fandom, for being so utterly, amazingly, totally awesome! *squishes* Love you all!

Also, totally going to be MIA for a few days while I read my book. Which I am getting tonight! So excited!
